Hi Everyone. I am a newbie too! I am a relative of the Wettiners. I would like to comment further  about the entry on page 19 re Rudiger etc. I notice that Louise has had compassion from writers (as so she should ) and so also I believe this tragic family from Tante Margrit (died when only 26) leaving Rudiger and Iris to be raised by grandparents in the light of Georg Timo's ... (Yes Georg was his first name)grieving and depression, should also recieve compassion. I know also that through the ages in many Royal circles, very great crimes were committed and that did not result in them losing title. The parentage of any family regardless of nobility is through direct bloodline. As for the morganatic marriage of Margrit to Timo, had she survived I feel sure that  the morganatic issue would have been resolved (as has Princess Mary of Denmark). The female issue of Karl and Hilde Lucas (Margrit's family) were all faithful and devoted to their spouses. I have photographs of the marriage of Margrit and Timo. So here we have a family that fled persecution, were robbed of their heritage, suffered ill health from the poverty outcomes of war that everyone suffered, personal tragedy and now ...we judge them and further deny their right to their heritage. Accepting an adopted person as an heir to the title and  refusing the true bloodline their inheritance is a further assault on them. HOWEVER, I do personally believe that we are not given any title or wealth without responsibility and purpose and that purpose is to do good. Should Rudiger and his sons fulfil this duty of their heritage I see no reason that the Christianity formerly adhered to by this family but appearing long gone,  should not again become a standard of belief and action. By the way, according to my mother, the Lucas children used to take small packages of food and leave them in the forest so that Jewish people could benefit. That action of a morganatic family was truly noble! Bless ya!
