Hello everyone!  My name is DeAnna, but I go by Dasha and I just wanted to say hi.  I been bouncing around on here as a guest now for the past few years and I’ve finally joined.  

I live in the States, I grew-up in Chicago and I now live in Phoenix, or as some people call it, the eternal microwave.  I have Russian Ancestry, and I love my heritage which is probably why I love this site so much.  So I just wanted to say Hi, and I look forward to talking to all of you.    ;D

 :) Thankyou for the warm welcome. I've been coming back to the APTM site for about three years now and I've been a guest on this discussion forum almost nearly as long as well. The knowledge and resources of some of the members in this forum is phenominal which is why I hesitated on joining for so long. I've seen a few movies, seen numerous pictures, and read various books, and done extensive research and still feel that I'm not competent enough to be a member of this forum. I recently decided to go ahead and join because it seems that the people here are so nice and VERY helpful. I hope every new members experience here will be as rewarding as mine.

 This has to be in my opinion the "official" site for serious researchers and anyone looking for reliable info on Imperial Russia. It just keeps getting better. Altough, to be fair and honest; there are a lot of other marvelous and resourceful sites as well.

Hello,

My name is Barbara and I live near a small town in the MidWest, USA.  I came across this site quite by accident a couple months ago and find myself checking it daily.  I have long been interested/studying/collecting re the Romanovs - generally when I try to discuss Russian/Romanov history with anyone, I get a glazed look staring back at me as if I were from another planet.  This forum really touches my soul and allows me to grow and learn.  Even though I mostly read on here - have only made one comment and asked one question, I feel as though I have come to depend on you all.  There is, however, one thing that is a little difficult for me, in that, since I am new, am not always sure what all the abbreviations made mean.

Welcome! I had the same problem when I was new - took me ages to figure out what 'OTMA' meant!! Which abbreviations don't you know? We'd be glad to help! :)
