Hi, I'm mark from england. I first saw the Nicholas and Alexandra movie way back in 1978 when i was about 15 and was sucked into the the whole story. Way back then it was all still a huge mystery. No-one really knew for sure what had happened to them. It's amazing how the world has changed since. Russia is no longer the "enemy" and all but two of the Romanovs have been found and reburied in the SS Peter & Paul. Now we know nearly all but the fascination is as strong as ever. Wonderful site!!!

Hello to all,

I am Dandy, 17 years old, live in Belgium and like to write(i am working on a novel, started writing a story for school and they said i should make it into a novel so i intend doing that), to read and to edit video's. But no more about me, i am here because of my interest in the Romanovs and i can say i've been into them since the moment i saw Anastasia, the animated movie. When i turned 12 i started to read about Anna Anderson and the Romanovs and i found it a haunting tale of history, and i still think it is cruel how one of the greatest monarchys came to an end. I have been reading Peter Kurth's The Lost World of Nicholas and Alexandra and intend to read Nicholas and Alexandra from Robert K. Massie, i also intend on reading the Last Tsar and have also been reading the Kitchenboy, from Robert Alexander. I really hope they translate his other 2 books on Imperial Russia. I've seen Rasputin, Nicholas and Alexandra, Agonya, Assassin of the Tsar, Romanovy: Ventsenosnaya semya and The Successor(sadly enaugh it doenst show much of the IF). I've seen Anastasia, the Mystery of Anna, Anastasia(with Ingrid Bergman) and Anastasia the animated movie, as i said before on Anna Anderson.

Besides the Imperial Family i have a high intrest in several historical events and people, including the French and Russian Revolution. I also like the next Royals, Princess Diana(i admire her for all the good work she did, and i still feel sad over her death to be honest), Empress Elisabeth of Austria, Queen Marie Antoinette of France, Queen Astrid of Belgium and Princess Gracia of Monaco.

I guess thats alll there is to know,

Happy to be here

Many people around here I don't know yet I think, despite of hanging around on royal forums/messageboards already for about 10 years.

If you want to know anything about me: http://www.nettyroyal.nl

Hello Everyone,

I suppose this is my "official" intro to the AP board. My name is Steve and have been engrossed in researching the OTMA saga for over a year now. Reading everything I can lay my hands on about this fascinating subject; in fact, just finished  "Ekaterinburg" by Helen Rappaport and also "The Last Tsar" by Edvard Radzinsky. Also have amassed quite a collection of VHS and DVD video on the subject, and hope to learn about various other video material available out there! :)

Quickly went to my video collection to see what was there. I'm sure your collection is far greater than mine, but in addition to those fantastic documentaries and films downloaded from the Frozentears. org site the other day, I've got:

National Geographic "Russia's Last Tsar" - VHS
NOVA - Anastasia: Dead or Alive? - VHS
Nicholas and Alexandra - A & E Documentary - DVD
Nicholas and Alexandra - 1971 feature film - DVD
Biography - Rasputin: The Mad Monk - DVD
Biography - Anastasia: Her True Story - DVD
The History Channel - Russia: Land of the Tsars - DVD

I'm sure most of you are familiar with these above, but I'm always interested in hearing about other media available out there for purchase on the subject of OTMA, Nicholas and Alexandra.

Thanks!

Thank you, that's a good collection.  Good thing you have them in DVD and not in VHS as I did.  Be sure to get the latest one "Finding Anastasia."  Thanks again.

"Finding Anastasia"? I haven't heard about that one. A quick search turned up it apparently was a National Geographic TV program; since I don't watch television at all, may have missed hearing about it. Do you know if the program is currently available on DVD and where? If so, I'll buy the video today!

I believe that it's pretty new so probably won't be available on DVD yet, but I am pretty sure someone on this forum will end up recording it. It will be on the NGC several times in August.
