This is the alexei hallway.

This photo - summer 2012. I have a photo of this place to our great tragedy of the great Patriotic war of the USSR against the Nazis.
On the photo - a corridor on the 2nd floor above the Front halls and the Windows of the corridor look at the colonnade. This hall you can see the layout of the Palace.

I don't see how this could be the Alexei hallway if the windows look out on the colonnade.  It seems to me it is some part of room 40 on the plans, or maybe some rennovated version of rooms 24, 25 or 26.

Do not look at the door. This was done after the war, because the Germans took all the doors for heating.

I live in Russia, in Moscow, and I understand why it's so bad the interior of the palace.
We fought against the fascists. They occupied the whole of Europe and all countries are working on the Nazi industry against us, USSR. And we have half of the country was occupied and all the plants were in the Urals. They worked only women and children. They were laborers, and made ​​weapons All the men were at war. After our victory had to rebuild the country, and the towns and villages were destroyed, and each building is very valuable. The palace was restored in 1949 and it is done by women, because there were so few men and the recovery was unqualified. Now we hope for a good restoration of the palace.

There are approximately 95 photos of the right wing - 1st and 2nd floors - corridor/rooms connecting the wings on 2nd floor, and playroom that were taken by the local historical group who were given a guided tour of the closed rooms of the AP. Tsarselo.ru is a fantastic site with recent photos of reconstructed White Tower, amongst so much that is a treasure to discover.

A little disconcerting when trying to decipher location of some rooms as what we have known as right wing, Russians identify as left wing. I am not sure when in English the suites of Nicholas II and Alexandra began to be called left wing as Russian documentation from early 1800s to today designate it as right wing.

A number of rooms are identifiable by description/number that tsarselo.ru has listed. Others less so. On the series of 2nd floor, this room can be correctly identified as the Corner Drawing Room #52 on the second floor plan:

Note the wallpaper and compare to this photo from 1934 when the AP was used as a health spa:

It appears same wallpaper style - also in the photo of 1934 you can see the raised platform with settee in the corner - just as indicated in Yakovlev's plan.
