What is this book about? I have never heard of it.

I was looking through Grand Duchess Olga's biography and she mentions that Lili was a close friend of her mothers and also was a great gossip. She also mentions that she was also very friendly with Lili's daughter Sandra.

Where Lili Vorontsov-Dashkov and Olga Dolgoruky cousins. I thought they were sisters until I noticed Lili's patronym was Andreevna while Olga's was Petrovna.

Yes Lili and Olga D were cousins (although Olga was one of five sisters).The late Dimitri Obolensky (born 1917)was the only child ( by her first marriage)of a daughter of Sandra Shouvalova so he was a great grandson of Lili.

In Alexandra's last diary she makes note of the birthday of May M.P. The editors note that this was Countess Maria "May" Illarionovna Vorontsova-Dashkova Musina-Pushkina. Was Countess Musina-Pushkina really a friend of Alexandra's?

Irina Vassilievna Narishkina was born in Lausanne on17/5/1879 the daughter of Vassily Lvovitch and his wife Fevronia( nee Princess Orbeliani ).After her marriage to "Larry" Vorontzov-Dashkov ended she married Prince Serge Alexanderovitch Doulgoruky(1872-1933).The couple had one daughter Olga born 1915.The family must have been among the small entourage who slipped out of Kiev with the Dowager Empress.Very soon after their arrival in Yalta, on 26/5/1917 a very few days after her childs 2nd birthday.Irina commited suicide at her mother-in-law's estate Mishkor
