Several pieces of jewellery on display were inherited by Her Majesty from her grandmother, Queen Mary, in 1953.  These include a bow-shaped diamond brooch with pendant tassels known as Queen Mary’s True Lover’s Knot Brooch

At Windsor Castle, an exhibition from the Royal Photograph Collection traces The Queen's public and family life over the past 80 years through formal records of State occasions, official portraits, little-known family photographs and intimate snap-shots.  Among the many well-known photographers who have captured Her Majesty’s image are Marcus Adams, Lisa Sheridan, Dorothy Wilding, Cecil Beaton, Patrick Lichfield and HRH The Duke of York. The selection of photographs is complemented by other material, including designs for The Queen’s image on postage stamps.
