Thank you RN for the wonderful link! some really lovely pictures. I like the one entitled "after the funeral" of Queen Mary on page 12, simple but elegant. Does anyone know of any other photos of the RF attending Queen Marys funeral?

Thank you :)

Thank you, RN.  This gives me enough information.  I was about 10 years off in my search.  You are a gem.
 :D

Update - I found it !  Unfortunately, it was in a bound volume and not suitable for scanning.  But I can either purchase a copy of the magazine or write the British Embassy in Washingon, where the article says the portrait was to be located, and see if a copy is available.

Thanks again for your help.

Youre verry welcomme!!! :)
Great you finally found it B5218 happy I could help. :)

Since the other thread has surpassed the 20 page mark (up to 29 now!) I figured it was time for a new one.

Since it was Memorial Day here in the US just a few days ago, I thought it would be appropriate to show this photo of EII visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetary in 1951.

A wonderful idea...this new thread.   Here's a few screen-grabs from the dvd, "The Windsors."

Some colored pictures from HM Queen Elizabeth II.

HM KIng george VI with his daughter HRH Princess Elizabeth on 13th December 1936.

The two sister Princess Margeret and Elizabeth on the piano in the 1930ties.
That paining on the right of the piano looks like HM Queen Alexandra and her Sister the Dowager Empress Maria.
Could that be possible or Im I seeing that wronge???(If they are it never saw it before)

HRH Princess Elizabeth sits in national park in Africa on 21th April 1947.

The family Margeret,HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother,King George VI
and Princess Elizabeth in the 1940ties.

The hair does give that impression. However, I think it's more likely to be two of the Wales princesses, or Alexandra with one of her daughters. Just wish it was a little bigger so we could see better!

I have a feeling the women in the painting behind the piano are Toria and Maud...possibly from 1893 when they were bridesmaids at George and May's wedding?

That's what I was thinking also. Maud and Toria in the painting.

Thanks for the pictures in color RN. I especially love the one from South Africa.

If anyone from Australia is interested (or not watching the rugby) tonight on Chanel 2 there is a special on called "The Queen at 80" and it's on at 7:30. Looks like there is some good historical footage from what it shows you on the advertisment. Part 2 is on same time, same place next Saturday.
