Celebrating a marvellous 90th birthday today!

Good interview.The Duke isn't an ordinary 90 year old,you rarely find them so sharp and active.
Loved the "Bunny Hugger" bit....he is right on that too.The man is a gem!!

He has said that he is going to scale down his public duties and take life more gently, but it's all relative.

Isn't it a pity that the likes of Sarah, Duchess of York garners much more comment for how not to behave, than a Prince that has achieved so much and spent his life in support of the Monarch.

Much has been made of his 'gaffes' but I find them wonderfully un-PC in such a PC world. I think my favourite is when he was attending the Independence ceremony of a former British colony in Africa. Just as the Union Flag lowered, he lent across to the new President of the country and said "are you sure you want to go through with this?" - Absolute classic Duke of Edinburgh!

LOL.  The Duke is now enjoying one of the benefits of age.  In his youth, such comments would be considered rude or abrasive.  But coming from a wise older man, they are considered charming, like the mutterings of a beloved old grandfather.  I find them delightful...

Hear Hear Hear!!Agree completely.That that pork of york thing generates more comments shows the idiocracy of the days we live in and the sort of people that have been produced old enough to hype-up anyones PC if you're game for that....Never!... in relation to what is really worth while and just hyped-up nonsense about a creature that isn't worth a penny...oh...no pun intended...

HM The Queen and HRH The Duke attended a Thanksgiving Service at St.George's Chapel,Windsor this morning on occasion of the 90th Birthday of HRH.
TRH The Prince and Princess of Wales,Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,Prince Harry of Wales,the Yorks,the Earl and Countess of Wessex,the Princess Royal
and Admiral Timothy Lawrence,the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester,the Duke of Kent,Prince and Princess Michael of Kent,Princess Alexandra,the Hon.
Lady Ogilvy and other members of the RF were in attendance.A reception was subsequently held at Windsor Castle.

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh has been admitted in hospital due to suffering of chest pains.
The Duke will remain in Papworth Hospital,Cambridge for tests for the next few days.

The Palace gave no further details on the condition of HRH.

I do hope that The Prince will be well and that this is a short stay in hospital.
He neds to rest up for a very big year next year;  I hope he can enjoy all the Jubilee activities.....

According to updated news reports, the Duke of Edinburgh was treated for a blockage of one of his coronary arteries. He had a coronary stent placed.

absolutley praying that he makes a full recovery and will not be held back from the jubilee next year. so relieved the op. was successful. hope he gets better soon and best wishes to his family at this time, can't be nice any time but christmas eve has got to be particularly upsetting, hope HM's okay. my get well soon card will be on its way as soon as post starts up again!

The Queen visited Prince Philip in hospital earlyer today.The Duke had a good night and
will remain hospitalized for the next few days after an op in which a stent was placed.
