The geographical size of T.S?

How many private residences, public buildings, Palaces and other infrastructure was present by 1918?

Currently, the Town of Pushkin population is approximately 109,000 residents. One of the largest employers in Pushkin is the Tsarskoe Selo Museum - Reserve, the Catherine Palace and Park – a major contributor to Pushkin’s economy via tourism.

Does anybody have any idea about how many of those Lutherans were Ingrian Finns? I read on Wikipedia that in Imperial times quite a lot of Lutheran Ingrian Finns, who were settled there by the Swedes in the 17th century, lived in Ingria / the St. Petersburg Governate. In 1928 there were for example ca. 12.000 people in the Lutheran parish of Venjoki, which Tsarskoe Selo was located in, according to the Finnish Wikipedia. There were also indigenous Izhorians and Votes, who spoke Finnic languages in Ingria, but they were Orthodox. Anybody who knows how many of the Orthodox inhabitans who were Finnic-speaking?

And did the Imperial Family ever come into contact with these Finnish and Finnic inhabitans? Did they ever remark upon their "neighbours" in the Tsarskoe Selo-Gatchina-Peterhof area speaking Finnish, Izhorian or Votic?

Naslednik, I doubt whether the Tsars spoke Finnish but they were in contact with Lutheran Finns. There is the painting of the Church Parade of the Life-Guard Finland Regiment in Tsarskoe Selo Manage in 1906. Mannerheim had been stationed in Tsarskoe Selo also. It would be difficult to differentiate the various origins of the Lutherans for example Erich von Pistolkors who lived just outside the gates of the Alexander Palace on Malaya was Lutheran but of Swedish descent.

There is of course the Lutheran Church on Naberegnaya (Quay) street - I wonder if they have retained any records and may have historical information about their Finnish parishioners.

Yes, unfortunately most of the little information available is limited to those Lutherans who were Finland-Swedish and/or Baltic-German and thus members of the upper-classes (e.g. Mannerheim and Erik von Pistohlkors) or the middle-class urban Finnish Lutherans in St. Petersburg (e.g. the famous poet Edith Södergran!), but I was particularly wondering about the rural Finnic population, either Lutheran or Orthodox.

Naslednik, I doubt whether the Tsars spoke Finnish but they were in contact with Lutheran Finns. There is the painting of the Church Parade of the Life-Guard Finland Regiment in Tsarskoe Selo Manage in 1906.

Aside of its name, the Life-Guard Finlyandsky Regiment had no relation to either Finland or Finns. Its ethnic composition wasn't different from other Guards infantry units - i.e. predominantly Russian. The regiment's church and chaplains were Russian Orthodox, not Lutheran.

I know it is possible; Helen Azar did it [reant an apartment for the summer] when she was interning at the palace libraries. No idea what she paid, though.
