I'm terribly worried,it's already a (huge )problem for a french not to speak his language on the website so please no russian,it complicates more and more the thing...but ,next year I'll learn russian...so ,wait a few time!
Thanks in advance,Vassili

Essentially, posting in Russian without a translation is posting a private message on a public thread. I find it inconsiderate and exclusionary.
A whole thread of Russian only would be a different matter, even a "learn Russian " thread. But posting  where the vast majority of readers will not understand what is being said....?

Sorry, Robert. My English isn`t fluent and I need time to translate from Russian to English. It`s first reason. Second reason is my laziness… :-/

Vladimir,
I never would have guessed from all your wonderful posts that you weren't completely fluent in English.  I certainly understand how much easier it is for you now that we can post in Russian, but I encourage a translation accommpany any message in a language other than the primary one of the board (English).  I think being able to post phrases and book titles etc. will be very great addition to the forum, but I think Robert was somewhat severe in his reponse.  I know that with all that you have shared with us in the past, you are anything but "inconsiderate or exclusionary."

Forum Administrator:
You may want to set up some guidelines for using Russian and other languages now that you have made it possible to do so.

Vladimir,   I agree, your English is wonderful.  I was not intending to be "severe". I tried to bring up a point- and offer suggestions that would be inclusive to all- translations, learning Russian and  a "Russian only, which actually could be quite helpful to those  trying to learn to read Cyrillic.
BTW, I DO read Russian, with the help of a good dictionary, so I am not being pouty about this.
Yes, guidelines might well be in order.

Sorry. It was bad idea to write in Russian without a translation. I wrote that Pavlovsk museum is restoring the facade of the palace and installing new security system and that some interiors in Strelna Palace Complex will be redecorated.
There is also possibility that new fountains will be erected in the Strelna Park. The fountains will be absolutely new. (Peter the Great intended to establish a state summer residence in Strelna with giant system of fountains, but nothing was done because in 1721 Peter suddenly lost interest in Strelna. I think you know this story.)

Vladimir,
Thank you for the translation and the information.  We certainly rely on you to keep us up to date on work on the Palaces.
Believe me, we appreciate it, and we now appreciate it even more knowing that it is not quite as simple for you to translate into English as we had thought.  I always made the assumption that English was almost as easy for you as Russian.  Shame on me for making such assumptions.  I know that translating the text you supplied on the Alexander Palace was a tremendously difficult task for me, and I certainly appreciate your efforts.
[ch1057][ch1087][ch1072][ch1089][ch1080][ch1073][ch1086] (Spasibo) Thank you.

I wonder if someone has photographs(actual or not)some public places buildings(hotels, cabaret, restaurant ) before the revolution...?Old buildings which could be restored to develop tourism...

Everybody knows the imortance of baths in Russia so,is there historical baths in Petersbourg as Moscow?

I would be also interested to see photographs of the maxim's retaurant in Moscow(I know,it's not the right place there)
