Help!

Hi all,
I haven't posted here for a long time or colored. I've just been through a messy period in life but am now on the mend and back.

I have been trying to color photos again. I use Photoshop. For some reason, no matter what color I select on the color sheet, i get pink when I try to color. I have read through the basic steps Nerdycool and some of the others have posted, but I can't seem to get it right.

I was hoping I could get some help.

If I'm not mistaken there's two squares one on top of the other and that shows which colors you chose.  Mess around with that (unfortunately, I don't have photoshop but I've played with it), like right click on a color and that would change one of the squares...  sorry if I wasn't much help ^^;

Thank you so much for responding.
I did try that. I just can't figure out why I am having the problem. If I click the color blue, I still get a pinkish color.
