His facial features are quite nice (very attractive in a gental way). I think his problem was his height. People were used to towering tzars and all his uncles were very tall.

That is a portrait of Nicholas's uncle, another Nikolai Alexandrovich. He was Alexander III's elder brother.

Yes. This Nicholas has been Dagmar ("Empress Maria Feodorovna") first boyfriend. He must be the Tsar, but he died young and his brother Alexander ("Alexander III") will inherite his brother title of Tsarevich...and his young girlfriend, Dagmar, the little beatiful princess from Denmark.
