Today, August 31st 2006 is the anniversary of Diana's death. 9 years ago today, Diana was in the car with her lover Dodi Al-Fayed and the driver, Henri Paul. Apparently he was drunk and on drugs and in the Pontde L'Alma tunnel in Paris and crashed. The only person who survived was Dodi's bodyguard who was also the only one wearing a seatbelt. Henri and Dodi were killed instantly while Diana, seated in the back, slammed forward causing her massive internal bleeding. Even though there was resussitation attemps made, she died soon after from the internal bleeding.
She was laid to rest on the 6th of September.
Today, don't remember the tragic way Diana died, but the great things she died while she was living. Diana showed kindness and tried to help landmine and Aids victims. She was heavily involved in charity work and would show up to hospitals unannounced saying that these visits should be kept from the media. "HIV does not make people dangerous to know, so you can shake their handsand give them a hug: heaven knows they need it."
"The world is too little aware of the waste of life, limb and land which anti-personnel landmines are causing among some of the poorest people on earth. Indeed, until my journey to Angola early this year - I was largely unaware of it too."
"I love to hold people's hands when I visit hospitals, even though they are shocked because they haven't experienced anything like it before, but to me it is a normal thing to do."

Rest In Peace, Diana Princess of Wales
