modern decorating tips
« on: May 23, 2006, 08:56:42 AM »
Hi all.  I'm working on decorating my home study properly, as I've broken my foot and will be telecommuting for a while. (Thank you God for inventing the internet!)  I'd like to decorate my study a la the mauve room, so if anyone can suggest stores and sites which sell (relatively) inexpensive Romanov-like items (picture frames, desk accessories, etc.) I'd be awfully grateful. Thanks, Pax et bonum, N.

My grandparents receive a catalogue about every 3 months, I believe, called Treasures from a Bygone Era. Its filled with antequie reproductions, and even features a page on Russian pieces, complete with hand-painted balalaikas and reproductions of Russian coins with Catherin the Greats insignia on the backs of them!
But there are many victorian things as well. Mostly, in fact, is victorian/edwardian. And I thin kthere's a page of actually lavender victorian things, I know it sounds crazy, but. I know there is an official site for the catalogues, where you can order things from the site or/and order the catalogue, but I dont know its URL. Maybe googling the name of the catalogues (at the beginning of my post) should do it. I can try, but I have to leave at the moment.
