I am searching for any info on Princess Agatha of Prussia, born Hohenlohe-Schillingfurst (1888-1960)
She married Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia (1880-1925), 3d son of Prince Albrecht and Princess Marie  (of Saxe-Altenburg).
The couple had 4 daughters:
Marie Theresa,Louise, Marianne and Elisabeth.

It seems that very little is known about this branch of the Hohenzollerns, at least about this couple and their daughters. Have anybody ever seen any pics of them? Of Agatha and her husband?

Thanks in advance.

Here´s an article about there daughter Princess Marie Therese (1911-2005), who married Rudolf Hug in 1932, with whom she had 11 children. She was the last living member of the Albrecht-branch.

Thanks, Linnea, I saw that article. So pity that there is not much info on Marie Therese's parents :(

Hello :)

Does anyone know if Princess Agatha was Protestant or Catholic?

I think the Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst were Catholic...

And another question - was the marriage of Agatha and Friedrich Wilhelm equal?

I think it was equal since Hohenlohe's were one of the oldest noble families of The Holy Roman Empire connected with all other ruling families(on one way or another) and were considered ''good enough'' for Hohenzollern family(mother of Empress Augusta Victoria was a Hohenlohe)!

Yes , I know that Dona's mother was Hohenlohe Princess. But she was Langenburg, not Schillingfurst, and a niece of Queen Victoria.  Agatha did not have such PERFECT family relations I guess.

I think it has been considered equal since Friedrich Wilhelm was not heir to the throne,Hohenlohe's were by the facts considered equal since they had that right of equal birth as they were mediatized and Agatha's cousin was(I think) Cancelor and well respected among all royals...so,all the facts leed us to think that it really was an equal marriage...but,you might never know!

Hello Everyone -

Apparently, Prince Friedrich Wilhelm first asked permission to marry a certain Countess Paula von Lehndorff, but gave her up when Emperor Wilhelm II told him that a morganatic marriage would mean giving up his title.

A few years later, Friedrich Wilhelm was granted permission to marry the royal, but catholic Princess Agatha after her father promised the Emperor a protestant marriage ceremony and the protestant upbringing of future children.
