George, I am enjoying your family pictures so very much!  Thank you for sharing them with us.

It is interesting to me to see the 1919 picture in Russia and then the 1920ties pictures in China.....your grandmother seems to have adjusted to everything that happened during the revolution very well.  .....And by the way what a gorgeous Grandmother you have!!  What a lovely figure too....you come from really spectacular genes!!!

What an interesting family you have!  Did you know this grandmother?

Arleen

Thank you George for sharing the beloved family album, and pictures of your Grandmother, and all. I have enjoyed them very much. My dad actually I believe lived a short time in Harbin, but originally arrived in Shanghai, upon his escape from Russia.

Arleen is quite right, your grandmother is quite beautiful, as well the other members of the family. I must say it must be quite comforting to have at least these important photos. Your grandmother must have treasured these above all. Was she able to allow you know who all the people were in these various photos, or have they just become family treasured photos? I think it is so very important for family to make sure relatives are named where possible, for not just the receiver, but for future generations.

Thank you again for allowing us to see these wonderful photos.

Dear George:

What wonderful pictures.  Not only did I enjoy the photographs taken in pre-revolutionary Russia but I found the Harbin pictures fascinating.  What a contrast but, as others have pointed out, it seems that your grandmother adjusted well to her new life.  I think you have the makings of a a book!

I really enjoyed the pictures as well. They show what daily life was like, and besides that are very well taken, artistic, and your grand mother was really very lovely. I like old photos and these are very good examples of the best in old photos. You are so lucky these are your families, and that they survived, and show so well how your family lived then.
