Not sure if this DVD has been mentioned before but I've finally been able to get hold of the DVD 'Russia in Revolt, Myths, Mystery and Manipulation' after seeing it in a shop about 2 years ago, but at the time unable to buy it.

Promptly forgetting completely what it was called and finding it had disappeared from the shop later on, I thought I'd never find another (well slight exaggeration)

Haven't had the opportunity to watch the DVD 'The Fall of the Romanov Dynasty' yet, no doubt it typically biased propaganda designed to show how important the Bolsheviks were from 1905 onwards... (well it was made in 1927!)

But the extra on this looks interesting, with a documentary essay and a Romanov Photo Collection.  Might just be basic, run of the mill photos, but you never know.

OK, had a chance to view some of the DVD, well those specifically to do with the Romanovs and it seems really good.

The film shows scenes of the 1913 Romanov procession (more than what is usually seen), on board the Standart (inspecting the sailors, dancing) and Nicholas inspecting the troops, I think at Stavka.

As to the Romanov photos, many I've seen before but there are a few that I have not and I've got most of the photo albums that are available.  One is of Nicholas and his generals at, I presume Stavka, in a room with a large map on a table.  Another is of Alexei on a donkey dated 1906.

Overall I'm glad I bought it, it is a 4 disc DVD, including 'Strike', 'The Battleship Potemkin', and October 1917' as well.
