My copy is in English.  According to the website, it was also published in Russian and Danish.  Don't know where you can buy it.  I got my copy at Dom Knigi in St. Petersburg.  The ISBN is: 5-87417-232-7

http://www.liki-rossii.ru/Izdan_en/izdan_det_en/MF_en.htm

My verdict is that if you can acquire this in any language, it's fine.  The photos are worth it alone.  The books does stray from the subject to discuss things such as Marie's engagement to Nicholas, the Alexander Nevsky church in Copenhagen, etc. There are tons of family photos, interior/exterior shots, objets d' art, photos of churches and hospitals, and photos what things look like today.  Sadly, I'm not a good judge of what photos are rare so I can't be of help in that department, but I'm sure some are rare.  Despite the amount of photos, I like that I have an English copy because it is a good read.

Thank you very much for the information. It looks like it's time to ask the publishers when the english version will be reprinted this year. It looks to have had a very small inital run.

Thank you, not a cheap book then, but I guess it'll be almost impossible to get once it's out of print.

here is what he said
....this book is not available now neither in English, nor in Russian but
in 2-3 months the reprint is planned. You are interested in English
version, are you? The price of the book will be about $60, with
delivery by airmail it will be about $85.
In 2 months keep an eye on our site
http://www.liki-rossii.ru/Izdan_en/displayBooks_en.htm?section=all
there will be the information about new run.
I try to inform you when the book will be drawn
..It seems to me they are not sure when really its going be available from his email

It wasn't cheap when I bought it in St. Petersburg either!!  I'm the type of person who hems and haws over every purchase. I don't do many impulse buys, so it was a major thing for me not to look at the cost and just walk up to the counter and make my purchase.  I only did it because I did love the book, but I also knew immediately, it would be difficult to find this book should I walk away from it.  That's another thing I'm learning, especially about royalty books, is to buy and (possibly) regret later! :-)

If you can get it from the publisher for what they're quoting above, I'd say you're pretty much spending what it originally cost.

I add this since Empress Marie lived in other palaces aboard (Denmark, Gmunden, Greece & England) as a guest. The current one is ONLY restricted to her own palaces. I wonder which one was her favourite ? Amalianborg ? Marlbrough House or Tatoi in Greece ?

That seems to be a good idea. I will wait for the English version.

they also got back to me with the following information

"The price of the book will be about $60, with delivery of one book by
airmail (8-12 days of delivery) it will be about $90.

In case of you consent to buy a book we give you the bank account for
money transfer (book price + delivery), you inform us about your exact
mail address of delivery. Bank draft (check) is not accepted
unfortunately. After money come to our account we immediately send
parcel with the book and inform you about this event."

It's not so much the price as having to pay via direct deposit to Russia with may preclude me from getting it. What a pain.

You do pay more. Unless you can pick it up in Russia.
