For all those who are very patient and love to make their own costumes... here a link to make your own Kokoshnik, like the ones that belonged to the Grand Duchesses. (You can change the color or pattern into the model you most like)....and you'll be ready for the 1903 Winter Palace Costume Ball..err...I think I'm a little late   Anyway, I think I'll make one for myself ...Halloween, Carnival ya know...

Oh...so nice! Thanks! I dreamed so many times to try on something that would look like OTMA's traditionnal court dresses, or, even better, the dresses from the 1910 photoshoot!

Maybe I'll try this summer, and make some for my small sisters too!

Hi. I tried to access the link for making a kokoshnik but its not longer available. Does anyone have any tips on how to make one because I'm makling one as part of a costume for my university course.

Just curious but was there material on the GDs Kokoshnik? As seen on this dummy? Note the material peeking over the top.

To me that looks like a ribbon, piled on top of it while on the dummy.

When I was younger, I got a visor (those hats you wear during tennis or golf) and put it upright on my head after I decorated it with beads and sequins. =D  It was supposed to be a kokoshnik.
