There were a couple of night alarm buttons.  They only went off accidently twice.  This proved the system worked.

Few realize how the Imperial family was isolated by their security.  It was a huge 24-7 operation - well hidden, but it was complete.

Был ли портрет на стене до революции или это задумка большевиков ... Или где он висел раньше?
Whether there was a portrait on a wall before revolution or it zadumka Bolsheviks... Or where it hung earlier?

You will remember on the train to Siberia how she waited until everyine was asleep and out of the corridor before she would use the bathroom.

to be honest i won't go to a public toilet and normally i won't go to the toilet if someone is upstairs!! - ( i think i get that from my grandma!)

I always run the cold water tap in the basin if I am using the toilet and someone is in the house. I read somewhere Jackie Kennedy did the same.
