Well, you might want to mention who or what specifically you're writing about.....

Welcome here! And , of course, write the book about NAOTMAA! It's always great to have a new book about our more beloved family in the whole world!  :)

Well, I think a new Romanov book will be interesting! but also writing one, is a very challenging task. You must have done a good research, like reading books on the subject, get information from reliable sources, maybe talk with some experts: sharing your ideas, arguments with them, review some historical documents, etc....ya know, to avoid falling in errors...
Anyway I wish you the best on this adventure  :D, and hope to have more news about your book.
Oh, and welcome to the Forum! GoOd LuCk!!!

Personally I heard already who said: "I'm gonna write a book". But still I heard nothing further.

You must do a good recearch.

You must make frequent visits to Russia, to Darmstadt, the Windsor Archieves etc, etc.
You can't only look and recearch the letters, diaries or photoalbums of Nicky, Alix, OTMAA. But you must also recearch letters, diaries, photoalbums of others around them.

And you can't copy everthing from other books. You recearch must be so well done, that you will discover new things: such as: did Ernie visit Russia in 1916 (and you must come with real proof), did Olga had a "real" crush on PRince Alexander of Serbia (brother of Princess Helena Petrovna of Serbia), do a recearch in the diaries of the Grand Dukes Andrei and Pavel, etc, etc.

And you must consider that Greg King did recearch for 15 years, with his new book. So you must very ambitious. You will spend hours of free time, must made trips to foreign countries (on your own costs) so you must think about that.

But if I was you, I would not write a book about N&A or OTMAA. Their lives are so digged out, alsmost everything we already know.

Personnally, I would consider a biography about the Grand Duchess Maria P. Sr. Her story is never told.

About Nicholas and his family

That's still entirely too vague for me to give an opinion. Is it a biography? Is it an analysis of their remains? Both have been done to death. If you plan to write a book, write about something bigger and better than NAOTMAA.

I personally would like a book on some of the lesser-known members of the family (someone already mentioned Miechen who I think is long -overdue for an updated bio!). Also I would like to see another book on Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna. That would be my choice.

I say unless you uncover something totally new and unknown about NAOTMAA don't write about them. Like Jackswife said why not write a book about a lesser known family member? Miechen or a English bio on KR? I myself would absolutley love a book in English on the Konstantinovichi!

I would certainly be interested in reading a new book on NAOTMAA, but I'd like to know what will make your book different and unique from others about the family.
