I'm thinking 1912 too - same hairstyle as in the 1913 formals, but in those formals, her face seems to have matured a little more when compared to this photo.

I agree. 1911 is probably a little early more I think about it but she does look a little more childish in the face that she did by 1913.

Also Spala was in the early-fall of 1912. Alexei sort of looks like he's bouncing around here (although hard to tell exactly in this cropped photo) and it took him quite a while before he recovered if I'm not mistaken. That probably takes the first half of 1913 out of consideration.

That's a big help in dating photos...AN before Spala and after Spala...he seemed to have been  in pretty good health that summer and yes ,Marie's face is a good bit more mature in 1913.  She's still childish looking here
