Gisela had a much lighter and easier personaility than Sisi as she does not dwell on issues. That itself was another strike against her in the complicated mind of Sisi, who thought her eldest daughter shallow and stupid. She much preferred the complexities of Rudolf, whom she thought brilliant, intelligent and full of feeling.

I think that Sissi's nieces (the daughters of her sisters) are more similar to Sissi than her own daughters and son.

I think Elizabeth was Gisela's eldest child and subsequently Sisi's eldest grandchild. It was Elizabeth that Sisi describes as "healthy, loud and ugly...just like Gisela !"

Indeed that was that Elizabeth. I don't imagine Sissi offending Ella, the eldest daughter of her
beloved Marie Valerie, I don't know about Erzsi, perhaps neither.

didn't Gisela's grandmother Sophie didn't like the Hungarian Branch of the Habsburgs? I think she  wouldn't have liked for her great granddaughter to marry on the side.
