Thanks, Emily! I think it was at Livadia. I got the pictures from the Beinecke album. I think the occasion was one of Alix's bazaars or something like that. It seems to me that I read that Alix would hold sales once in awhile and the girls would help. Correct me if I'm wrong or if my details are off. I used Adobe Photoshop 7.0 to change the image size to my preferred size and adjusted the 'Sharpen' level. The original of the picture is much larger if obtained from Beinecke, since my photobucket account shrunk it a bit. I'm not sure what album it's in though.

You're quite right. There were many tuberculosis sanitariums in Yalta, and the empress organized bazaars to raise money for them. The money the children collected on White Flower Day went to the same cause.
