I finally found the place where I saw photographs (in black and white) of this dacha for the first time: It is in the topic Gatchina Palace, p 3 and it is brnbg aka: liljones1968 which posted them.

It does not indicate anything on the current use of the house.

By chance, I found this photo color on old houses of Gatchina. There were no comments but I noticed that this corresponded to those of brnbg aka: liljones1968.

Now, to gather the photographs at the same place, I will add them here. I hope that brnbg aka: liljones1968 will forgive me to copy its photos.

I found my photo color on a Russian site:

http://history.gatchina.ru/picture/oldgatchina.php

It is perhaps the street name where the house is located. Perhaps Svetabel or somebody can inform us?

Reco this is a wonderful mystery!  I love the Gatchina website....all of those unique houses...now if only I could read the Russian!!

Brian is such a dear person he won't mind your lifting his photo's for this site!
What would we do without people like him (and YOU) and his wonderful collection.

Now my main question.....does the website say that this is the dacha of Grand Duke Michael A, or is it just someone's dacha named Mikhail Aleksandrovich??
If it is GD Michael's then the next question would be did he live in it with Natasha?  Then it would be very special....There are pictures of one of his houses that he lived in with Natasha but it isn't this house...too big!

Many thanks,
Arleen

??????? ? ??????????? ( Gatchina in the photographs )

?????? ??????? ( Old Gatchina )

And the photo is saved with this name: urickogo20a.jpg

yes, it's the street name and number of the house - Uritskogo, 20a. This is an ordinary living house today.

Maybe Svetabel could help me again. Did GD Michael Alek really  live in this Dacha with Natalia?

Thank you

I guess they were living  there from time to time until 1917.

Probably in the times of Mikhail and Natalia. :-/ Now it looks like many old wooden houses --I'd say nothing exciting  :(

In the book, Michael and Natasha, the house where supposedly Michael A lived with Natasha is identified as  being on Nikolaevskaysa Street, 24 and appears to be a much smaller house than this one. According to the book, they lived here up through the revolution.  There is a picture of it in the book.  If I get a chance I will scan and post it.  There is no mention of Uritskogo, 20a, although the book talks about Michael owning property on Baggout Street and wanting to rent another in Kseniinksy Street (this property is described by Michael in his diary : "The house has two floors, we're thinking of it for our servants.")  Is it possible that one of these is now Uritskogo Street?
