Snow Mountain Question
« on: May 20, 2006, 05:49:23 PM »
I know it was fiction.
But while reading through the final chapters, I came across a few sentences that stated that Olga Nicholaevna was Aleksey's godmother.

Just curious, I didn't know if it was true or not.  If it is, then whoa.  If not, then it sure made the book even more interesting.

I think it is true. I read it on another website (I don't remember which one >:(), but it said Olga was one of Alexey's godparents.

Thank You Olishka!   :)

That's an amazing fact.  Its wonderful that Olga was a godparent, I would have guessed that one of their aunts/uncles.

Oh, Olga wasn't the only godparent. The Romanov children had a number of godparents; Olga was one of them. ;)

Hi!

Yes, I think Princess Olishka is right, and that Olga was indeed one of Alexei's many godparents. But what is Snow Mountain, please? Is that a book, a novel or something like that? I don't think I ever heard of it before. I'm puzzled.

The Snow Mountain is a Romanov fiction book, by Catherine Gavin. It's told through the eyes of Olga Nikolaevna.

I just bought it off of Amazon.
Months back I borrowed it from my library and by the end of that very day I finished it.  It was too good.  I put up there next to the Kitchen Boy and God Save the Tsar, for my favorites.

God Save the Tsar is very good.  It is a bit of a read to understand what all is going on.  But I say its worth it.  It had a good but mysterious ending.

I liked Rasputin's daughter...it was 'out there' concerning Rasputin himself, and it brought in another side of the shadow that covers him.  The cover photo threw me off big time.  The minute I saw it, I wanted to call the guy and scream.  "That's Tanya ye goof!" >:( ;D

Why did RA do that? :-/

I haven't read the 'Snow Mountain' yet, but my favourite fiction featuring Olga is 'The Summer Day is Done.' It's very sentimental and a bit maudlin but it's a good book.
I can only imagine they used Tatiana's picture on the front of 'Rasputin's Daughter' for publicity reasons.

yeah i think hes trying to get the pictures of the IF that show emotion... like the kitchen boy showed family, and Tatiana showed anger and stuff. or that could be all wrong and just chose that lol!
