Another song:

Somewhere
Within Temptation

Lost in the darkness, hoping for a sign.
Instead there is only silence,
can't you hear my screams?
Never stop hoping,
Need to know where you are,
but one thing is for sure,
you're always in my heart.

Chorus:
I'll find you somewhere.
I'll keep on trying until my dying day.
I just need to know whatever has happened,
the truth will free my soul.

Lost in the darkness, try to find your way home.
I want to embrace you and never let you go.
Almost hope you're in heaven so no one can hurt your soul.
Living in agony cause I just do not know
where you are.

Wherever you are, I won't stop searching.
Whatever it takes, I need to know.

It is a pretty but sad song, to me it remembers much the Romanov
Greetings to all :)

Thi song is by Within temptation. I don´t really like it as a song, but the lyrics are to me almost perfect description of the Ipatiev night...

The shadows of the night,
are unleashed ageinn.
Where their greed begins
the end is near.
A morbid hunger for blood,
lies in their cold black eyes
They've come to take ouur lifes away.

One by one they died.
A massacre that took all night
They had no chance, it was no fight
You can't kil what has been killed before,
They died...

With shadows on its tale.
He steppedThrough the portal,
locked the door and ate the key.
With his life they took their way to freedom,
and be became the final keeper of the key.

It's amazing how many Within Temptation songs could apply. "Memories" definitely reminds me of them, too.

"A New Day" by Celine Dion reminds me of Alexandra and Alexei:

I was waiting for so long
For a miracle to come
Everyone told me to be strong
Hold on and don't shed a tear

Through the darkness and good times
I knew I'd make it through
And the world thought I had it all
But I was waiting for you

Hush now

I see a light in the sky
Oh, it's almost blinding me
I can't believe
I've been touched by an angel with love

Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new, new sun

A new day has... come

Where it was dark now there's light
Where there was pain now there's joy
Where there was weakness, I found my strength
All in the eyes of a boy

Hush now

I see a light in the sky
Oh, it's almost blinding me
I can't believe
I've been touched by an angel with love

Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new, new sun

A new day has...

Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new, new sun

A new day has... come

Ohhh, a light

Hush now

I see a light in your eyes
All in the eyes of the boy

I can't believe
I've been touched by an angel with love

I can't believe
I've been touched by an angel with love

Hush now

Hush now

It's very weird what will remind you of them. Two of mine are "Buddy Holly" by Weezer (dissing my girl, love her anyway, N and A) and "Angels of the Silences" by Counting Crows reminds me of when Nicky was away and Alix was alone just before the gov't fell.

Buddy Holly

What's with these homies dissin' my girl
Why do they gotta front
What did we ever do to these guys
That made them so violent?

CHORUS: Woo-hoo, but you know I'm yours
Woo-hoo, and I know you're mine
Woo-hoo, and that's for all time

I don't care what they say about us anyway
I don't care 'bout that...

Angels of the Silences

Well I guess you left me with some feathers in my hand
Did it make it any easier to leave me where I stand?
I guess there might not be too many who would stand beside you now
Whered you come from? where am I going?
Whyd you leave me till Im only good for...
Waiting for you
All my sins...
I said that I would pay for them if I could come back to you
All my innocence is wasted on the dead and dreaming

Every night these silhouettes appear above my head
Little angels of the silences that climb into my bed and whisper
Every time I fall asleep, every time I dream
did you come? would you lie?
Whyd you leave us till were only good for...
Waiting for you
All my sins...
I said that I would pay for them if I could come back to you
All my innocence is wasted on the dead and dreaming

I dream of michelangelo when Im lying in my bed
Little angels hang above my head and read me like an open book
Suck my blood break my nerve offer me their arms
Well, I will not be an enemy of anything
Ill only stand here

Waiting for you
All my sins...
I said that I would pay for them if I could come back to you
All my innocence is wasted on the dead and dreaming

I'm gone, take me away I'm gone, I leave today I'm gone, take me away I'm gone I'm gone I'm gone I'm gone

Im gone

I love "Buddy Holly!" I never thought of the lyrics that way, though lol!

Another song that reminds me of them is "All Good Things (Come to An End)" by Nelly Furtado.

Saints and Angels-by Sara Evans.

We're only human baby
we walk on broken ground
We lose our way, we come unwound

We're turnin' circles baby
We're never satisfied
We fall from grace, forget we can't fly
But through all of the tears that we cry
We'll survive

Cause when we're torn apart
Shattered and scarred
Love has the grace to save us
We're just two tarnished hearts,
But in each other's arms
We become saints and angels

I love your imperfections
I love your everything
Your broken heart, your broken wings
I love you when you hold me
And when you turn away,
I love you still, and i'm not afraid
Cause I know you feel the same way
And you'll stay

Cause when we're torn apart
Shattered and scarred
Love has the grace to save us
We're just two tarnished hearts,
But in each other's arms
We become saints and angels

These feet of clay (feet of clay)
They will not stray

Cause when we're torn apart
Shattered and scarred
Love has the grace to save us
We're just two tarnished hearts,
But in each other's arms
We become saints and angels

(saints and angels...saints and angels...)

Viva La Vida - Coldplay

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in.
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become

Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter will call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

"Господь им дал дар по молитвам их размягчать окаменелые наши сердца за их страдания..Мне думается, что если люди будут молиться Царской Cемье, оттают сердца с Божией помощью."

Who Needs Pictures - Brad Paisely
I love to think of it as Nicholas remembering Alix in the moments before they died.

There's an old Kodak camera in my dresser drawer
I ran across it just this afternoon
And I realized that I don't ever use it anymore
In fact last time I did I think it was with you

When we were down in (Livadia)
We had the whole beach to ourselves
And it's crazy now to think
That it's all there on that film
And I could take it down
To be developed, but what for
I can still see everything just fine
And who needs pictures with a memory like mine

Standin' there I couldn't help but think about
Everything that might be on that roll
I think it even has another trip we took
I guess that must've been at least three years ago

When we were down in (Peterhof)
And there wasn't much to do
So we drove into (St. Petersburg) every afternoon
And I swear that you would think
That it was only yesterday
'Cause I can still see everything just fine
Who needs pictures with a memory like mine

Somewhere in my closet
There's a cardboard box just sittin' on a shelf
It's full of faded memories
And it's been there ever since the night you left

Oh, just forgotten photographs
To remind me of the past
Oh, but I can still see everything just fine
Who needs pictures with a memory like mine
Yeah, who needs pictures with a memory like mine

I love this song.

Holly, you totally beat me to it! I saw Coldplay sing that on the MTV awards (the bf wanted to watch and wouldn't surrender the remote) and it literally gave me chills.

I know! It's an amazing song and the lyrics are perfect for the Romanovs (Nicholas particularly). I love it.

I love Coldplay. It amazes me that a band with such awesome music and meaningful lyrics can even get airplay on popular radio in this era of Pussycat Dolls and gangsta rap crud.

Another of their songs, "Fix You," always reminded me of Nicholas and Alexandra, too. As in, the scene in the movie where he comes home and collapses in front of her could totally be set to that song:

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse.

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
"Just what your worth"

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream, down on your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face and I...

Tears stream, down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face and I...

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

I agree. I love Coldplay too. (I get to see them in July. Yay.) They have a lot of songs that remind me of them.

Beautiful World - Coldplay
Bones are sinking like stones
All that we fall for
Homes places we've grown
All of us are done for

And we live in a beautiful world
We live in a beautiful world

Bones sinking like stones
All that we've fall for
homes places we've grown
All of us are done for

And we live in a beautiful world
We live in a beautiful world

Oh all that I know is nothing to run from
Cause yeah everybody here has got somebody to lean on

"Господь им дал дар по молитвам их размягчать окаменелые наши сердца за их страдания..Мне думается, что если люди будут молиться Царской Cемье, оттают сердца с Божией помощью."

The Call - Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian Sound Track

--

It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry

I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye

Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before

All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and now one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes

You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye

You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye

Hi everybody!!  :)  Some of my favorite songs. XD

Remembering You by Steven Curtis Chapman from Narnia Soundtrack, reminds me NAOTMAA

"I found You in the most unlikely way
But really it was You who found me
And I found myself in the gifts that You gave
You gave me so much and I

I wish You could stay
but I'll, I'll wait for the day

And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I'll be remembering You, I'll be remembering You

From the first moment when I heard Your name
Something in my heart came alive
You showed me love and no words could explain
A love with the power to
Open the door
To a world I was made for

And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I'll be remembering

The dark night, the hard fight
The long climb up the hill knowing the cost
The brave death, the last breathe
The silence whispering all hope was lost
The thunder, the wonder
A power that brings the dead back to life

I wish You could stay
But I'll wait for the day
And though You've gone away
You come back and

I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
I'll be remembering You

And I'll watch as the sun fills a sky that was dark
I'll be remembering You
And I'll think of the way that You fill up my heart
I'll be remembering You

I'll be remembering You
I'll be remembering You

I'll be remembering You"

Wunderkind by Alanis Morissette from Narnia soundtrack too, remind me Anastasia  :D

"Oh perilous place
Walk backwards toward you
Blink disbelieving eyes chilled to the bone
Most visibly brave
No apprehended bloom
First to take this foot to virgin snow

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh
I live the envelope pushed far enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
destined to serve
destined to roam

Oh ominous place
Spellbound and un-childproofed
My least favorite chill to bear alone

compatriots in place
they’d cringe if I told you
our best back pocket secret: our bond full blown

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh
I am a pioneer naïve enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
destined to seek
destined to know

most beautiful place
Reborn and blown off roof
My view: about face weather, great will be done

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh
I am a groundbreaker naïve enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh
I am a joan of arc and smart enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
destined to reign, destined to roam
destined to reign….destined to roam…"

and Memories by Within Temptations remind me NAOTMAA too. Is so sad, and remind me exactly their dead!  :(

Love is stronger

By me.
