How It Ends by Devotchka

It was in the trailer to Everything is Illuminated.  Its lyrics are truly eerie in the sense of NAOTMAA...and its ending still gets me every time.  :'(

5 for fighting-100 years.

The music really gets to me, and the singers voice is totally sweet and goes really well with the song. It gives me a sense of OTMAA and their life from start to finish.  :)

Here are the lyrics:

I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

I'm 22 for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars

15… there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15…there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live…

I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind

I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life

15… there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose yourself
Within a morning star

15… I'm all right with you
15… there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live…

Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...

I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

15… there's still time for you

22… I feel her too

33… you’re on your way

....Every Day's a new Day....

15… there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15… there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live....

This is a very sad song and the video is more so than the lyrics.
The music is what reminds me most of OTMA, not much the lyrics.

Concrete Angel - by Martina McBride.

She walks to school with the lunch she packed
Nobody knows what she's holdin' back
Wearin' the same dress she wore yesterday
She hides the bruises with linen and lace

The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask
Bearing the burden of a secret storm
Sometimes she wishes she was never born

chorus
Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where she's loved
Concrete angel

Somebody cries in the middle of the night
The neighbors hear, but they turn out the lights
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes it'll be too late

[Repeat Chorus]

A statue stands in a shaded place
An angel girl with an upturned face
A name is written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot

[Repeat Chorus]

have you ever heard this?

OK GO LYRICS

"A Good Idea At The Time"

True about my taste
True about my wealth
The thing about St Petersburg I was never there myself
So come on Yeah come on
Anastasia cried all night, but I couldn't save myself
So come on Yeah come on

that's just the first verse.

Also I found this:

We have a son, there is a little Romanov
People need tradition, need direction, they need us
A stranger said, Mathruiska, why are you afraid of
someone with my power here before you in your home?
The czaravich can never bleed if he is to survive
Take me in your confidence and I'll keep your son alive
One and one is true
He'll swear he never wanted to
He looked twice and said I can identify this man
And the czarina shook her head
Alexandra, you see he's just a charlaton?
Is he curing every woman with those hands he's laying on?
The people moan, they say your like a concubine
And he plays you like a balalaika in the summertime
He appoints the cabinet as the soldiers kiss your feet
We'll poison him, then shoot him
And we'll drown him in the Neva water
One and one is true
I swear I never wanted to
He looked twice and said I can Identify this man
And the czarina shook her head
I said one and one is true
The Bolshevik is rising too
He looked twice and said I can identify this man
And the czarina shook her head

if anyone knows where I can hear this song, please tell....it's called "the czarina shook her head"

Thanks for the new songs!

The Czarina song that you wrote of is by Rick Masters, though I have not been able to get a hold of it yet, and can't seem to find it on Amazon or LimeWire...but I'll keep checking!

the song "hear you me" by Jimmy eat world reminds me of NAOTMAA
here's the lyrics

There's no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go.
I never said thank you for that.
I thought I might get one more chance.
What would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
So what would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
And if you were with me tonight,
I'd sing to you just one more time.
A song for a heart so big,
god wouldn't let it live.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.

i don't know why...but every time i hear that song i get images of them stuck in my head

Yes i did as i've seen the video , but doesn't really make any difference to me  ;)

The girl who acts in the video clip reminds me of anastasia....don't know why it just does.

The lyrics and the ways it's sang reminds me of OTMA.

And the part at the end reminds me of the sadness of Anastasia's death.

loads of things really  ;)

only OST to "Anastasia" reminds me of Anastasia, Nicholas and others, who lived on the line of XIX and XX century.
and, by the way, the song that won on the Eurovision this year.))

Here is a song I made about OTMA'S LEGACY:

Four Angels in the heavens, calling upon us
peace and eternity,they speak
And love, they treasure
every night they sing, with the power of love
through our eyes, princess power
princess power
princess power
reigns for all eternity
you love and faithfulness, cherished our thoughts
How I loved you all, your irreplaceable never to come back
Oh speak to us dear angels
speak to us angels
speak to us angels
you are here only in heaven
Oh we still hear you, darlings, speak in the dwellings
where you know lie deep, with distinct personalities, and personal intrests
dearest ones rest in peace for eternity.

Here are the lyrics for Devotchka's song How This Will End: Reminds me a lot of NATOMAA:

Hold your grandmother's Bible to your breast.
Gonna put it to the test.
You want it to be blessed.
And in your heart,
You know it to be true,
You know what you gotta do.
They all depend on you.
And you already know.
Yeah, you already know how this will end.

There is no escape,
From the slave-catchers' songs.
For all of the loved ones gone.
Forever's not so long.
And in your soul,
They poked a million holes.
But you never lettem show.
C'mon it's time to go.

And
You
Already know.
Yeah, you already know
How this will end.

Now you've seen his face.
And you know that there's a place,
In the sun,
For all that you've done,
For you and your children.
No longer shall you need.
You always wanted to believe,
Just ask and you'll receive,
Beyond your wildest dreams.

And
You
Already know.
Yeah, you already know
How this will end.

You already know (You already know)
You already know (you already know)
You already love will end.

Here is another one!  Pink Floyd's Mother:  Just think of Alix and Aleksey.  ;)

Mother, do you think theyll drop the bomb?
Mother, do you think theyll like this song?
Mother, do you think theyll try to break my balls?
Ooooowaa mother, should I build a wall?

Mother, should I run for president?
Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Ooooowaa is it just a waste of time?

Hush, my baby. baby, dont you cry.
Mommas gonna make all of your nightmares come true.
Mommas gonna put all of her fears into you.
Mommas gonna keep you right here under her wing.
She wont let you fly, but she might let you sing.
Mommas gonna keep baby cozy and warm.
Oooo babe.
Oooo babe.
Ooo babe, of course mommas gonna help build a wall.

Mother, do you think shes good enough,
For me?
Mother, do you think shes dangerous,
To me?
Mother will she tear your little boy apart?
Ooooowaa mother, will she break my heart?

Hush, my baby. baby, dont you cry.
Mommas gonna check out all your girlfriends for you.
Momma wont let anyone dirty get through.
Mommas gonna wait up until you get in.
Momma will always find out where youve been.
Mommas gonna keep baby healthy and clean.
Oooo babe.
Oooo babe.
Ooo babe, youll always be baby to me.

Mother, did it need to be so high?

This reminds me of Anastasia's "escape" and survival, I guess. The topic of Anna Anderson comes into mind, too.

Yes, Anastasia
I know what you want the magpies have come
If you know me so well then tell me which hand I use

Make them go
Make it go

Saw her there in a restaurant
Poppy don't go
I know your mother is a good one
But poppy don't go
I'll take you home
Show me the things I've been missin'
Show me the ways I forgot to be speaking
Show me the ways to get back to the garden
Show me the ways to get around the get around
Show me the ways to button up buttons
That have forgotten they're buttons
Well we can't have that
Forgetting that

Girls girls what have we done to ourselves
Driving on the vine
Over clothes lines
But officer I saw the sign
Thought I'd been through this in 1919
Counting the tears of ten thousand men
And gathered them all
But my feet are slipping
There's something we left on the windowsill
There's something we left yes

We'll see how brave you are
We'll see how fast you'll be running
We'll see how brave you are
Yes, Anastasia
And all your dollies have friends

Thought she deserved no less than she'd give
Well happy birthday
Her blood's on my hands
It's kind of a shame cause I did like that dress
It's funny the things that you find in the rain
The things that you find
In the mall and in the date mines
In the knots still in her hair
On the bus I'm on my way down
All the girls seem to be there

Come along now little darlin'
Come along now with me
Come along now little darlin'
We'll see how brave you are

That song is about Anna Anderson. Tori Amos claimed that her ghost told her to write that song. I really like it regardless of the Anna Anderson part.
Your song was beautiful Emily! OTMA would be so proud.  :)
