Look it is the proof that restoration in Russia is possible and that some people really care for it.

Dear Vasili,

First I'm kind of thrown by the spelling, but then again in English it may well be spelled differently, and or has been changed somewhat. I have always seen his name spelled this way, Rachmaninov [sp?] or somewhat similar. Sergei Rachmaninov was indeed a very special and noteworthy global musician !

In the years of the 20's, perhaps a little late, my dad lived here in the United States in a shared home with other emigres, musicians, where Rachmaninoff lived also. Like many of the vast photos that my father had gathered over the years, and of the metropolitan opera stars, and an opera book with their signatures [or any particulars of that of my mother's] and all of both their personal items, my sister denied me access. So the only memory i have is of the knowledge that indeed these pictures were taken, and that I was shown them when my parent's were alive. She [ex sister] may have them, but she can't take vast memories of all of those treasured memories, objects of art, and monies that were my parent's. Unfortunately, some people are more than willful, controlling, selfish, totally greedy. All they see is what they want, regardless of what a shared world, in particular for ALL of any of one's children's direct ability should be able to to have access to. Unfortunately, she has taught her son to be the same :(  Sorry for my comments, but when treasured items as such, are blatantly stolen, it really makes one feel sad that actions as such continue, and even more not just with strangers, but with family members. It makes your blood run cold, for you realize all too soon, they are not who you thought they were !

Thank goodness for real artists. In the world of art, there are responsible people who really have full heart, the  true character, the total respect of others, who are anything like those who profess they are patron of the arts. Serge Rachmaninov was one of those rare and unforgettable persona's.

I'm so glad that I found this particular thread, to allow me know there is a Museum dedicated to Serge Rachmaninov.

Anyway in the future we might be able to see pictures of the inside of the Museum ?

Thank you very kindly Vasili_Vorontsoff.

Dear Vassili_Vorontsoff,

How kind of you to take time to share so much with the members here. I thank you personally for your efforts and goodness. Going to school, going through exams, all that balancing is a lot to go through. I hope your dreams and all your efforts fill your goals to be.

Yes, I went through the website, and hoped that there might be something more in terms of pictures of the composer himself, etc.

As to the documents, my sister on the actual day of our burying my mother, after the meal that was held in honor and of my mother's life, my sister said goodbye, and never contacted me again. She took with her vast photographs, music, an opera book filled with all of the famous singers my father had sung with, and so much more, including jewelry, monies, etc.. I saw at least two sheets of music that Serge Rachmaninoff had given his signature to, of my father's. So you can imagine in some sense how I feel in terms of both the effects of ALL of both my parent's persons estate being taking absolute without any conscience whatsoever, of both my sister and her son. I never contested anything, or felt it was worth it to go after two thieves as such. I am not the final judge, and they will some day have to address what they have done ! All I know Vassili_Vorontsoff, is that strangers are better than these who have professed to have been 'family'.

Yes, I still do love Rachmaninoff's music, and certainly his concertos. If you have any more to be shared about this fantastic composer, i look forward to reading and viewing anything you might want to share. Thanks again, and God Bless !

Dear Vassili_Vorontsoff,

Thank you for the new link, it was informative. I had not heard nor viewed the Tchaikovsky museum in Klin. But you are right, his piano concerto is wonderful. Actually, my favorite instrument is the violin, and yes hereto i agree.

In regards to your English test, I'm sorry you did not receive your objective. But, do not despair !
Juat think, you are working to achieve your objective and that alone is a positive step forward. I think of course even more, how brave you are to converse, and verbalize here on the AP website, in a language that is not your own. I'm sure there are many others who champion and proud of what you are accomplishing. Vassili_Vorontsoff, nothing is accomplished overnight. It will take you time, but I believe you are already doing well. Don't you dare give up. Keep posting here, and sharing your thoughts, views, and concerns. Don't worry we will respond gladly !

You are quite young, and your life ahead of you. Please, always feel proud of what you do, and in whatever you accomplish, or work yet to do.

Thank you again for your helping us here on the AP Forum to understand about so much of Russia, and her peoples. God Bless Vassili !
