This little country is being plagued by rebels running through the streets of its capital, Dili. Innocent civilians have died. The Australian soldiers over there can do nothing as of now. Our Defence Minister can only assure and do nothing else. Warehouses containing food have been ransacked as there is a major food shortage.

It must be terrifying to see loved ones dying, and now no law and order, and food being ransacked, as well major food shortages. My heart goes out to those in need of full support. As many others, we wish with all our heart we could be of assistance, in the now. I don't know how much aid or assistance is going to the earthquake area, but I pray it comes from every corner of the earth. I have heard that the loss of life is about 4,000. It is very distressing to hear that such a large amount of life has been lost so quickly. May God have mercy, and help the brave people of Timor !

Apparently the australians think that it is a diplomatic convoy that is looting and setting fire to the capital.
Australia is acting as a conquering power and respects nothing and no-one in a devastated land too far away for people to worry about.

Deary me. Blame the Howard government, not the troops.
