The bust length portrait which found it's way to some auction was a bit more "softly looking."
This... right?

I know that it doesn't look at the first glance like Sophie, but there was one portrait labeled as Sophie very similar to this, but only bust length which I can't find now Sad

The lady was painted by Winterhalter so,could it be her?
I looked through all the gallery, I think that you are referring to this portrait... right? >>Credits on the image<<

What I see is that it is actually the same portrait (same pose, same hair, same dress and same jewels) but the face changes a lot, the face of the lady in the bust length portrait not only looks softer but IMO the lady looks slightly younger on this than in the larger version. I tried to look for the identity of the lady portrayed but only found it labeled (as well as in pinterest) as a "Portrait of a lady in a white ball gown".
Honestly, I am not much convinced that this is actually a portrait of Sophie, but I could be wrong. I mean, even in the bust lenght portrait, the lady portrayed doesn't look so much like Sophie. In the second version, the woman is totally different to Sophie. Winterhalter did a good job with the portraits of her sisters, Sissi and Marie Sophie, they really had a resemblance, so this makes me to doubt that this is actually Sophie! As I previously said, the woman in the second portrait doesn't bear any resemblance to Sophie and I even dare to say that looks a bit older.
Any other opinion?
