Hans Veit was born in Jan 1935 so he would've been the child she was expecting at Marina's wedding (Nov 1934). Helene was born May 1937.

Countess Toerring came to visit her sister the Duchess of Kent after the birth of her son Edward in 1935. Elizabeth and George are pictured here before the London residence of the Dukes of Kent in Belgrave Square :

I wonder where Wooley lived when she visited London for Queen Mary's birthday. In Kensington Palace with her sister Marina ?

I read somewhere that, for example,Princess Olga when visited London stayed with Marina, but sometimes also stayed with Queen Mother in Clarence House, which was very surprising to me...so,Elizabeth could also...

I read the the official bio and recent publications of the QM's letters. Olga was viewed with favor than her sisters because the QM was a long time friend of Prince Paul. Indeed Olga stayed at Clarence House after Marina died when she visited London. Not sure if Countess Toerring was in that category, especially since she married a German.

By the time Princess Marina died, her sister the Countess has been dead for 13 years! Pointless comment. Doesn’t really matter that she married a German, whom everyone knows that the Count had nothing to do with the Nazis (willingly or forced) unlike most German royals, trying to get "popular" or actually and sadly anti-Semitic.

Not sure if Countess Toerring was in that category, especially since she married a German.

Well,Princess Olga married a Prince who was in exile for being proclaimed a Nazi collaborator, often nicknamed Prince Quisling by the Press...The King and Queen were forbidden to communicate with them for a long time, but in the end they finally paid them a short visit while being in South Africa,as Queen Mother didn't want that kind of isolation anymore...

So,I don't think that Elizabeth being married a German would have been such an issue if they were privately close...

I thought the Toerrings were more enthusiastically pro-Nazi. ??

I think they were more "Pro-German". Even Prince Philip once said the Nazis seem to be able to get Germany up on its feet, and against Communism. For some it is enough to convince some royals. The horror of the Nazis came later. According to "Dear Ellen" Wooley later opened her eyes, but the die has been cast already.

This is an incorrect assessment, if you'll allow e to say.
