Really surprising!, I was totally sure that "Italia amore mio" would be definitely excluded...and instead...the televote has reversed the situation, this is a clear proof that the opinion of the jury at the Ariston theatre not match with opinion of many people at home.
I have to agree that probably he got many sympathy votes, but I'm happy that he was readmitted to the competition, it was a nice "slap" to those who rudely have booed against him.

Surprisingly, "Italia amore mio" is finished on the podium...was placed on second place. :- )
As I said it was one of my favorite songs, not just because I have sympathy for Emanuele Filiberto Di Savoia, but because the song was about a thematic very dear to me....yes, maybe it don't deserved to be in a so high place, but as I said in my previous post, it is a slap against the rudeness of some people that were present at the Aristor theatre.
And as I have imagined, during the final night of the 60th Festival di Sanremo too, the two exibitions of Emanuele Filiberto, Pupo, and Luca Canonici has been accompanied by the dissent of some people.
...and when Antonella Clerici announced the names of the top three classified there were a tumult at the Ariston theatre...the Sanremo Orchestra began throwing papers, to scream...a disaster ::), evidently they would have preferred other songs in the top three positions... the poor Antonella Clerici didn't know what to do in that turbulent situation...such thing had never happened in Sanremo before...
Let's say this...the real winner of this 60th Festival di Sanremo is Antonella Clerici, that has been able to conduct a difficult Festival full of controversies in an egregious manner.

I listened to the song and agree with Noloter: It's bad.

Lol, is this about himself and the Savoyans as exiles?

Yes, it's about himself...and this is the part that probably was the cause of some controversies around the song, I myself admit that it would have been better to not include this part.

It seems that all Emanuele Filiberto's detractors were in the Ariston Theatre last night, then. ;-)

Well, actually he had really done nothing that made him deserve to be exiled (but perhaps his ancestors did it), so those lines were somekind true...He payed for someonelese's faults...You know, he wasn't even born yet in 1946, when King Humbert II leaved Italy! It's just like happened in Ancient Greece, where fathers' faults falled on their offsprings untill seventh-generation...

I think those two lines were only about himself and not about his whole family.

Some pics form the "Festival di Sanremo" final night (source: www.ansa.it):

Emanuele Filiberto, Pupo and Luca Canonici go on stage.

Emanuele Filiberto during his performance.

Orchestrals boo and throw their music papers in the air as soon as Antonella Clerici declares the names of the three finalists.

You are totally right, and I agree completely with that part, the only problem is that it was another thing that detractors took as a "motivation of protest", interpreting this in a different, wrong manner...of course he haven't done nothing of bad.

As I heard today, some journalists are suggesting that it was a pro-Savoia propaganda, and not a "real" song...it's a nonsense of course, because actually this is a song dedicated to all Italian emigrants...but as I said, some people seem to have "interpreted" it in a different way.

I didn't see that part, I only saw Tokio Hotel perform, possibly their worst perfrom act in my opinion because of the Orchestra drown out the guitar and bass..and that Bill sing a bit dry which isn't good since they are starting their European tour tomorrow. Yes, if your wondering, I'm a groupie, not the stalking and screaming kind though lol. I just care for the guys and their music.

as for the Prince, I don't really pity him since i have a feeling his trying to get famous in his family's name, I could be however wrong since I don't know the guy.

Well, some republicans/communists wish (or should I say demand?) even Savoys declared themselves to be anti-Savoys...How ridiculous!
They demand the only right opinion, the only acceptable opinion about House Savoy it's a bad opinion of it, they don't accept people who have a good opinion of it; they say people who speak highly of House of Savoy are all fascists, reactionarys, and monarchists and therefore these people should simply not be allowed to speak at all. That's a quite curious idea of democracy and free speach, isn't it?

I think I almost agree with you, Mandie, the Gothic Empress ; sometimes I thought, being him a kind of Crown Prince, he shouldn't act like this. House of Savoy is one of the greatest and most ancient European Royal Houses, its members did great and unique things (not to mention it was House of Savoy that unified and freed Italy in XIX century and, as I'm Italian, that's its greatest merit to me), and the undignified behaviour of some of its members could be of damage to the whole House.
I don't want to start a discussion about the most-known Italian succession question between Savoy-Carignans and Savoy-Aostas, but may be I undestand why many people among monarchists want Amedeo of Savoy-Aosta be Head of the Royal House istead of Victor Emmanuel of Savoy, being the latter a controversial character too. However I take the side of none of them, I'm neutral.

You got the point :- ), it often happened to me to be "labeled" as a "reactionary" just because my interests on the history of the House of Savoy, I never found anything strange or negative in all this, as I am an Italian myself, I'm just interested in what is an important chapter of the history of my country and my people...it's sad to see that many people here are still inclined to deny their own history.
