I have read in some books that their wedding night was not succesful and only was the marriage consumed the second night, more or less by force (i.e. rape). Don't forget that those times were not as enlightened as they are nowadays. Sex education was not much in the offing and the relationship between man and woman was different. Sex was a 'duty' to be performed by the wife and I am certain the Empress Elisabeth with all her 16 years was still a romantic child and the actual 'act' must have been frightening to her.

Yes, Is well known that Sissi considered that Franz Joseph rapped her in their wedding night, this
experience was really disgusting for her, the last of her life she was frigid and allowed FJ to have
several lovers for having sex with them instead of her.

The painting of the coronation of Franz Joseph is very nice he looks very handsome as
a young man, I haven't seen it never before.
I'm not sure if someone has posted it but one day I saw one draw of the Archduchess Sophie
with little Franz Joseph and Maximilian, Maximilian was still a baby in the arms of her mother, and FJ
is standing next to them.
Are you sure that FJ was shorter than Sissi? I don't think that he was shorter than 1.72 meters,
can you post the image again because sadly it has been deleted.

Probably you mean this picture, don't you Kaiserin Alzbeta Sissi?

I think FJ was rather same tall like Elisabeth around 1,72 cm, when we consider their photo from Bad Kissingen in 1898.
Unfortunately there are not a lot of photos available for comparison, where they are together.

If somebody has some, they will be very welcomed!

I saw one photo? or I don't know if it isn't a photo... Franz Joseph looks much taller than
Sissi, they're standing together, the photo must be of after 1870's because Sissi is wearing
a beautiful and elegant bustle dress. Perhaps you've seen it before. For that reason I couldn't
believe that he wasn't taller than Sissi

You have seen perhaps only picture. Painters used to make him much taller then Sisi, bud he had surely only averaged high.
Although I don't think, he was shorter then she, if I judge according the photo.
You can compare them:

on photo...

....and on picture.

Yes, I agree completely with you that FJ was a little bit idealized in the paintings, he is always much taller
than Sissi, from the painting of their engagement to the last painting of both, really I believed very much to the paintings and I never
doubt that FJ was taller than Sissi, he looks so nice as a boy!!!
