By the way, hope you have as fantastic a time as I did in Russia. I can hardly wait to go back [not until October, alas].
Safe journey and what prayers I have are with you.
 Robert

Why thank you Robert!!!!

I leave in just a few days to face the warm 30C heat.

Best regards,

Margarita

As the arbitrator of all things Romanov, I suppose your imprimatur carries weight, in some circles.
Ms. Zeepvat's work stands well with or without your condescending approval, dear Belochka.
Although I will admit it is becoming repetitive and trivial.  Hope she finds some new topics.

How so? None of the books she has written are directly related to each other--she has put together two books of photographs, a book about Prince Leopold, one on British nannies, and of course, Romanov Autumn. Why exactly are these "repetitive and trivial"?

The "Romanov" market, though small, has been innundated with too many pictorial publications that depict a similar round of images.

There is a difference in scholarship between the analysis of key political events as opposed to merely providing an account to appeal to a broader readership, often presented in a slightly different format from one author to the next. The information is often not new, just recycled and can be trivial or of little historic significance.

Sincerely meant, Margarita,
Ortino, I found  the nannies book very much a compilation and dull.  That is my opinion. I did not even buy it after reading through a couple of chapters.  [a very rare thing for me-NOT buying a book! I buy books sight unseen]. I did not say I dislike her writing, indeed, she is one of my favourite authors.   The silliness of her titling the GDs is annoying but not enough to discredit her efforts.
Her style reminds me, somewhat, of Bertita Harding, albiet BH had not the access to so many photographs.
Just feel CZ has become "stuck in a rut" so to speak. Not an unusual thing for authors.

I enjoyed From Cradle to Crown--I thought it was a very interesting read. I suppose that in the larger scheme of things it is indeed a rather banal subject, but on the other hand no one appreciates books that simply repeat information that can be found elsewhere. From Cradle to Crown was, in my opinion, a refreshing departure from other Romanov and royalty related works. Perhaps, as you've phrased it, she's "stuck in a rut," but I think that her books add significantly to any library. I agree however with you about her use of titling, it can be rather annoying at times.

I've checked my bookshop's database (current, upcoming, and out of print books) and can't find anything newer than 2004. New books are usually listed months prior to their publication, so it looks to me like Zeepvat has nothing due to release in the first half of next year...

That explains why I couldn't find it in my system -- it's a UK release! ;)

Anyone know if there are plans for a US printing?

She usually does get released here... it's just later, and Sutton has gone through so many overhauls lately... who knows when....
So long and thanks for all the fish

Sutton's books are not sold for US rights, although Sutton has distributed the UK editions ... but not always.  However, there is nothing preventing you from ordering the book from England.

Does anyone know if it's still going to be released?

Charlotte is presenting a lecture at the Royalty Weekend in Ticehurst.

It possibly may be quicker to contact her Literary Agent Andrew Lownie via  http://www.andrewlownie.co.uk/ ?

Have you guys noticed how much her books have went up on ebay and amazon? i was looking to buy the book on Prince Leopold and i came across her other books and Queen Victoria family was going for 500 bucks on both sites. the others were equally high.  anyone know why the sudden hike up of prices? (only this past december i got two of her books from the same places for about 3 bucks each)

Try abebooks.com.  Right now, I see several copies of the Prince Leopold book for under $20
