That seller have the awful habit to sell other people s work (included some colorization posted on wikipedia). Here s the original of Alexei (note that thisn seller even got rid of the watermark!)

I will let him know that someone is stealing and profiting of his work

I thought I recognised that coloured one of Alexei! That's awful that this seller is doing this. I hope you actually get a response, Carolath Habsburg.

That seller used to be really above-board so this is rather sad to hear. They used to sell all antique postcards but the last few years have sold reprints. I don't object to that since most images are out of copyright and this seller always made sure they were noted that they were from a digital collection and were reprints, not originals. It's almost impossible with these old images to tell whether they came from one particular site or the other. I have posted stuff here with the GDE mark and seen them pop up all over the place but I wouldn't know they were mine if I hadn't put the mark on them. Some of these images are just too common--even when they are from the NPG, etc...

Selling other people's original works, however, is a violation of that owner's licensing rights. A complaint could be made to ebay but they almost never follow up on this sort of thing.

kraljaleksandar knows about this and i dont know what s hes going to do.

Sadly, as GdssElla says, Ebay puts lots of problems to report these kind of people. Ioffer is another stuff and they re more serious about art thieves and not onle delete the item, they also delete the seller account and ban them, which its an excelent lesson!

It's sad they're actually doing this, you know, getting other people's colourings and selling them on ebay claiming it is 'rare' or whatever.

I wonder if this seller has done this before at all?

The two colored photos rosie posie posted earlier are ones that I colored and posted on my blog. That will teach me not to watermark! I must have missed those somehow. People are unbelievable.

This is one that I colored a while ago, and had posted on the colored photos part of the forum and on my blog. It is one of my favorites and I can't believe that someone would steal my work! I am reporting them to ebay.

The nerve of these people to steal all of your non-watermarked work and claim it as both theirs and "rare"! I just found out today, but best regards to you all that you get this idiot off of eBay and get your hard works back.

The last one of the grand duchesses was watermarked. I don't know how but they were able to remove it. I am going through their listings and reporting each item that they have stolen from me. I will try to report the user as well. I have all of the original photoshop documents so if ebay contacts me I can prove that I am the artist.

Thanks for the good wishes! It just makes me sad that someone would do this. I probably won't post these on my blog anymore now that this happened.

I think I'm going to have to start doing that to my colourings.

I just cannot understand why someone would have the nerve to do that, it's awful.

I looked at their account today and the pictures that have been mentioned their auction thing has ended.  So either a silly person has bought them or the seller has removed them.

However I did see this print of Dagmar just wondering is this a colored photo from a member?

That's not mine...but it's likely to come from someone on deviantart...

I wonder if ebay took them down? If they have been reported, that that's a possibility?
