As I said on the French forum, judging by the reaction full of rage of the Islamic world, this papal statement may very well prove to be the trigger of hard to believe events described in the above prophecies.
God bless!

I am at present reading (again) Gordon Brooke-Shepherd's "The last Empress". When the Emperor and Empress and their children left Austria in 1918, did the other Hapsburgs have to leave as well? If not when did they leave or were they able to stay in Austria?

Dear Brent,

the other members of the imperial family of Habsburg didn't have to leave Austria when Emperor Karl and Empress Zita went into exile. If they wanted to stay, they had to acknowledge the so-called Habsburgergesetz and they had to sign a deed of renunciation in 1919. So did Archduchess Marie Valérie, the youngest daughter of Emperor Franz Joseph. She stayed in Austria and she didn't have to give away her fortune.

It is an excellent book. I have read it several times. I have been told that the Author waited that Empress Zita had died before printing it because it describes very clearly the "Sixtus Affair" Which the Empress always denied existed.

All Hapsburgs that were descendants from a morganatic marriage could stay in Austria after April 1919.
All Archdukes had to leave Austria or did have to renounce to the rights to the throne. Most of them left.
Most of Archdukes alive today were born in Exile.
Archduke Felix and Archduke Carl Ludwig (sons of Zita) were finally allowed to enter Austria in 1996!

All,

My name is Nicholas J Corrao, and I am from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  I am a monarchist awaiting for the return of the monarchies in Europe.  In honor of this I have never voted in my life.  I am also a Catholic, but I do have a healthy love and respect for the Orthodox Church, all Christians, etc.

First I would like to thank the administration for allowing me to join in spite of the fact I have a hotmail address.

Second I would like to welcome anyone who is interested in the Great Monarch prophecies to read my book called "Songs and Prophecies of the Great Monarch."  Recently I made some interesting discoveries concerning him and it inspired me to write a book.  The book is a bit different than the speculations above and in other threads.

The book is speculative and controversial in nature, therefore I welcome any comments, criticisms, or questions.

Interesting thoughts.  Have you heard of the great monarch prophecies.  This following one is interesting.  It was recorded by Ven. Bartholomew Holhauzer in the 17th century:

"When everything has been ruined by war; when Catholics are hard pressed by traitorous co-religionists and heretics; when the Church and her servants are denied their rights, the monarchies have been abolished and their rulers murdered... Then the Hand of Almighty God will work a marvelous change, something apparently impossible according to human understanding. There will rise a valiant monarch anointed by God. He will be a Catholic, a descendant of Louis IX, yet a descendant of an ancient imperial German family, born in exile. He will rule supreme in temporal matters. The Pope will rule supreme in spiritual matters at the same time. Persecution will cease and justice shall rule. Religion seems to be suppressed, but by the changes of entire kingdoms it will be made more firm."

I think the Ancient Imperial family mentioned is the House of Hapsburg, many of whom are descendants of Blessed Karl and born in exile.  I also think it is Providential the Blessed Karl was a holy man.  Almost as if God is pointing to his House as the line of the great monarch.

Dear Nicholas.

I'm neither supersitious nor believe in Prophecies. If I would... The world would have been erased generations ago and I would not be in this forum.

You write: I think the Ancient Imperial family mentioned is the House of Hapsburg, many of whom are descendants of Blessed Karl and born in exile.  I also think it is Providential the Blessed Karl was a holy man.  Almost as if God is pointing to his House as the line of the great monarch.

There are 12 grand sons descendants from Kaiser Karl. All of them were borne in Exile. Which one would you pick for fulfilling this prophecy?

At the division of Turkey almost all will go to Russia, and Russia with the united forces of many other States will take Vienna, and about 7 million native Viennese will remain under the house of the Hapsburgs, and there the territory of the Austrian empire will be constructed. To …" (Source)

I started reading this thread and find it interesting reading. I don't believe in prophecies, none the less I read them. In the quoted part the prphecy states that... and about 7 million native Viennese....

Vienna had aproximately a population of 3 million April 1914
Vienna has 1 million today.

How can Viennese population explode from 1 to 7 million? God bless and save beautifull Vienna from such prophecy.

I am sorry to hear you dont believe in prophecy.  I dont blame you though, there is a lot of garbage out there.  As far as who the Great Monarch is, I think I have narrowed him down to two persons.  I believe he was born in 1997.  Here is my interpretation of this passage:

{9:24} Seventy weeks of years are concentrated on your people and on your holy city, so that transgression shall be finished, and sin shall reach an end, and iniquity shall be wiped away, and so that everlasting justice shall be brought in, and vision and prophecy shall be fulfilled, and the Saint of saints shall be anointed.
{9:25} Therefore, know and take heed: from the going forth of the word to build up Jerusalem again, until the Christ leader, there will be seven weeks of years, and sixty-two weeks of years; and the wide path will be built again, and the walls, in a time of anguish. (Daniel 9:24,25).

This is taken from a prophetic dream of Daniel, "from the going forth of the word to build up Jerusalem again" was the establishemt of the Irael is 1948.  A week of years is seven.  The Christ Leader mentioned above is the Great Monarch.  He was concieved in 1996 and likely was be born in 1997.

As far as which Hapsburg it is who was born in 1997, I am not completely sure.  I am working on an article that explains why I have narrowed it down to two of them.

Anyone is welcome to read my book for free:

Okay, I realize that I am in dreamland here, but if Austria were to bring back the monarchy, should the reigning monarch be known as Emperor of Austria or Archduke of Austria?

There will be no restoration. Those days are long gone. As for a title it was once Kaiser or Emperor of Austria. Archduke was like Prince. It was not the title of a Monarch in Austria.

Austria is a republic now, so any change in a head of state would have to reflect a change in the status of the country. Empire is silly, there is no way Austria  could resume that status. So Kaiser or Emperor are out. Other options could be Grandy Duchy, [Luxembourg] or Pricipality [Monaco, Liechestein] in which case Grand [or Arch] Duke and Sovereign Prince could be used with the qualification of "Hereditary". As Dmitry pointed out though, such a change is simply fantasy, I do not think there is even an Austrian monarchist party trying to effect such a change. It is more bother than it is worth.
Life may not be the party we expected, but while we are here, might as well dance..

If there would be a restauration my guess would be in the form of a Kingdom, but family members would probably keep the title of Imperial Highness as a memory of their past...
but of course the chances are the lowest...

It would be an Arch Duchy like the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg . The Hapsburgs could easily have made Austria a Kingdom in the past but did not like the elective side of king-making with it's acclaimation, consecration and church approval.
I suspect they had enough of that  in their other realms and could not afford to risk their prime territory.

It would also make sense historically as Austria was a Grand Duchy  in the HRE.
