I may be of some inerest to posters that the present wife of the heir of the Principality of Liechtenstein is today regarded as the Stuart claimant to the British throne.

Oldest son of Archduchess Elisabeth, the youngest daughter of Kaiser Karl.

I only read this message today, and I must say I am more than shocked, especially because he was not old at all, and there are/were not any illnesses known, or were they?  It seems not. It's very tragic, as he was politically involved and has a family with two daughters exactly at my age. How it must feel like to lose one's Dad so all of a sudden, one can hardly imagine. I feel very sorry for them. If somebody is sick one can imagine that he will die some day (this is also hard), but so all of a sudden, must be more than horrible. It's very strange that he died because of an influenza, because most people, who die at such "simple" illness have another illness "in the backgound". Any healthy person would hardly die at something like that, I think.
Maybe he also had something with his heart, which was not known? The thing is more than strange, my father is two years older, and if I think what would be, if she had a cold and does not stand up again....My god!
I'm so sorry and wish all the best for the rest of his family!
Does anybody have an info, where he was buried or will be buried? Even for Otto von Habsburg, his uncle, it must be very hard to have lost again a family member.

What a dreadfully shock, and especially so soon after the death of Archduke Carl Ludwig. It really is very sad news.

Does anyone know about his relationship to his Habsburg family members? To his uncle Otto and Archduke Karl etc, his cousin? Were they close? It seems so, as the text says that he was Ottos favourite nephew. Who attended the funeral? Otto as well?

Really a pity, feel so sorry for his family. I still ask myself, how a man can die so middle aged, if he was not seriously sick.

Prinz Vincenz von und zu Liechtenstein went to Archduke Karl Ludwig's funeral at Vienna's Cathedral. He was not feeling well and requested to be seated outside the protocol. He sat at the rear end of the cathedral. After the funeral mass he continued feeling ill and left. He did not go to the Kapuzinergruft, went back home to his castle in Styria. Sunday night he went to sleep and never wake up.

He was married twice. He had 2 daughters, from his first marriage; both were engaged to be married this summer.

He had been ill before, had been hospitalized several times and was not a healthy person. Someone told me he had died of loneliness and a broken hart.

He had a very good relation to his uncle Otto, principally as a member of the Pan Europa Union movement.

He had received from Archduke Otto the order of the "Goldenen Flies", which is the highest distinction the Kaiser can give.

His funeral was in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.

Maximiliano, thanks for you detailed and very sad informations. Don´t you know, why he could feel lonely and heart-broken? He has his family – wife and two daughters, hasn´t he?
And do you know who are his daugter engaged with?

Why do you think that he was lonely? He was married to his second wife Roberta, he had two daughters who were to marry this summer ... sounds like a happy family ... but you'll never know, of course.

To whom are married his daughters? Paul Theroff site said nothing about it...
Maybe it should be a reason for feeling lonely...girls are living their own lives out of home...but he had his wife...

Adelheid (born 1981) and her sister Hedwig (born 1982) are going to marry this year, so it's not surprising that you couldn't find their husbands on Theroff's sites. ;-)

As far as I know Hedwig's engagement was announced in December 2006. Her fiancé is Comte Olivier de Quélen, son of Jean-Louis, Comte de Quélen and his wife, née Antoinette de Madre de Loos.

Have only heard about the engagement of Princess Hedwig, but not for the eldest one, Princess Adelheid.

I think Prince Vincenz was separated or divorced from his second wife Roberta Valeri Manera, as she was not in the death notice and found this interview with Prince Vincenz:
