Eyewitness in Tobolsk by Olga Belisle
« on: August 19, 2006, 03:19:25 PM »
What does anyone know about this book?

I searched for any mention of it at the AP search site and found it only mentioned by Bear in her survivors threads.

Is it worth buying?  Or is it a work of fiction made to look like history?

I know I tried to find some info about this book a while ago, too. I can't remember where/how I heard, but I came away with the impression that it's not very repuatble. If I can come up with anything more concrete, I'll let you know.

It is easily available, I just found it not worth the bother, as it really is not much about the IF.

This book is complete trash. The creator of this fictitious piece removed known documented events and melded them with less than imaginative portrayals to create a publication that is best ignored. The sentences detailing the "girl" seeing Nikolai II through the window and each, complete strangers, exchanging heartfelt emotions can only be described as an insult to the memory of  HIM.

Save your money for something more worthwhile.

Thanks everyone.  And thanks for the link to the other thread.

I did a search and nothing came up.

I can't make up my mind about it.  If I find it really cheap, I may just go for it.
