Grand Duchess Leonida's Memoirs
« on: August 27, 2006, 03:48:34 PM »
I bought a copy yesterday. However, it will be quite some time before it arrives. So, can anyone who has read Chaque matin est une grâce tell me what Leonida covers in her book?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Does anyone know if it is available in English?  If so, what is the title?

And since it was mostly ghost written it contains a series of rather serious mistakes.  It was also used by GD Leonida to do a hatchet job on her former son-in-law, claiming that some other family members tried to prevent the wedding of her daughter to go on, but of course those relations are now dead and no  one can verify the veracity of the claims.

One would think that a ninety-something year old woman with Leonida's background would have plenty to write about herself...guess not.

I gathered that she mentioned Franz Wilhelm since you wrote something to that effect in The Grand Duchesses.
