Palaces of Peter the Great in St Petersburg
« on: August 28, 2006, 01:10:14 PM »
This is reported to be the oldest structure in St Petersburg. Built by Peter's own hands, he used it as his lodging during the construction of the city.

It has survived intact from the early 1700's, along with some personal things which belonged to Peter!

Even the glass in the windows is said to be original.

I apologize for the quality of the photos, but I had to use a regular cheap camera and the lighting left a lot to be desired!

Please can anyone advise where this was / is? if it still exists. I have been scouring the forum but have been unable to find a reference to it. Is it known by another name?

Many thanks
