I will start this thread because there are so few topics that regard portraits of Romanovs before Peter the Great...you can find some on the web and some are very hardly to find...person that left the most "influence" on me was young Emperor Feodor III because of his reforms as well for his will for life-married two times(although disabled) and died aged only 20!

Here is his portrait:

And one of his second wife Marfa Matveevna:

They were married for just 3 months and there are so many pictures of her...does that mean that she was respected for something even after his death? Are there any pictures of his first wife who died on childbirth?

She hid Peter when he was ten along with his mother and Uncles and the child of his adviser Artemon Mateyev during the murderous Strelsy rebellion.  She was only 14 at the time. I am sure Peter remembered that act.

Also her brothers were the three Apraxin brothers who would not give up their connection to the royals even if Fyodor III died. Fyodor Apraxin was a shipbuilder and became a famous admiral who has a statue facing the sea, Peter Apraxin was a general but he became bitter after lending money to Alexei not knowing he would use it to flee. He was arrested and interrogated and let go, but after that he hated Peter. Andrei was a regular courtier but must have been a good brother since Fyodor the most famous of his brothers left everything to him.
