Alapaevsk Photos
« on: September 07, 2006, 09:32:47 PM »
I recently was looking on E-bay and saw an old article for sale that included photos of the bodies of Grand Duchess Elizabeth and those with her who were thrown and killed in the Alapaevsk mine.

Has anyone ever seen these?  As morbid as this sounds, can you show them here?

Thanks.

I have the photo of GD Elizabeth's body. It's not pretty of course, so take a minute and think it over before you click on the link:

Oh ... that's sad ... I am choking on my tears here, but what did I expect? Thank you for that.

One inevitably has to ask about the absence of the recovered body of Feodor Remez in any of these lists of Alapaevsk victims. Still it's hard enough taking in the reality of the awful state of the shown seven. It must have been terribly hard physically and emotionally for those who made the effort to recover them. And yet a very important step morally and for history.

Sokolov included in his book only photos of the corpses of the five Romanovs by birth or marriage (GD Serge, GDss Elizabeth and Princes Ioann, Konstantin and Igor). I think there are no photos of the bodies of Prince Paley, Sister Varvara and Fyodor Remez. I don't know why, but may be their murders simply had no political interest.

That´s true. On the other hand he included the corpses of Anastasia Hendrikova and Ekaterina Schneiderova, who had been murdered earlier....

Nena,
I can't email you so here is a message for you: can you tell me how to get onto the gatchina.ru link and find the Alapayevsk photos? I can't do Russian.
Thank you,
Susana
