Thank you very much Tania. It means a lot.  :)

Here's a little about my father: About 4 years ago he started having strokes, and then a heartattack in which his heart stopped beating and he had to be brought back to life with those things that shock your chest. (Don't remember the term.) Now he has a difibulator. (Hope I'm spelling that right!) To add on to all of this, he has bad diabetes and now is suffering from neuropathy. Which is horribly painful for him, and you can lose limbs from it. He can hardly walk now.  :'(

I'm only asking for some prayers, because I know those work. Thank you.

                                                                                                     Holly.

Dear Holly,

Of course it means a lot to have people respond to you, your family, your father, or on behalf of a loved one. You know they did a study, actually one of many studies, that at times, people pay more attention to their pets then they do to human life. But I think and continue to pray that real human hearts, will have continue to have concern for each other, and humnity as a whole.

I am very familiar with human tragedy, as well as disabilities, diagnosis, etc. Heartattacks are not in particular one of the issues that one wants to ever go through. I have had my heart stop as well as all my internal organs, and because of prompt medical emergency care, was brought alive again. Of course I had not a difibulator, and actually do not know what that provides. Perhaps you can enlighten and educate us. I think that it will help many here who post, or just read, by those others who post on their explaining these issues, so we become a bit more understanding to the issues, as well of what the human heart goes through.

Diabetes is not an easy disease to endure. I know many through the years I have met who had diabetes and also had to go on dialysis. My heart went out to each and every one of them. I know about nerve issues because I am going through that right now.

Holly, don't give up, and keep up your prayers. Prayer does work, and I am sure together for those who do care, they will be heard on high. If you need to reach me, and talk about it more at length, I am here for you. Just post to me privately and I will respond.
My thoughts, my heart, my prayers are with you, always! God Bless you all in your family Holly !

Thanks for starting this thread! Holly, I hope that things get better for you, although it is pretty bad now. Everyone on the forum cares, I hope, and will post to this thread, and be there for you. I am sure prayer will make a difference, it does make a difference, I am sure of that. I will pray for your father, and hope things get better. Sometimes it seems it is the best of us who suffer, and through that perhaps come to know that we which we would never know if we hadn't. I think people who have just had perfect lives,  just think of themselves, and don't really ever bother to think about what other people go through, although they should. Thinking about what other people experience, is important, something I didn't realize once, which I realize now. So, Holly, I will pray for your father, and try to be there for you.

Thanks very much for all the support.  :) It's so good to hear it.

A difibulator is a box that is inserted into the chest near the heart. I know my father has to plug  it into something and it goes to a monitor at the hospital, it tells if any irregularity has been going on with his heart. When I was 13 ( a few years ago.) my mother also had to have major surgery on her heart because she was born without one of her valves. It was very risky, but she lived through the surgery, but almost died afterwords because since her whole body was technically dead for a while, her kidneys had trouble starting back up again and she suffered from kidney failure. But she's better now.

I really agree with you Grace. From the things I've had to go through since I was very little, it has taught me many things. I've also been forced to mature faster than most my age. But that's just how life is I suppose.  ;)

Holly,
The fact that this thread exists is to remind us all that we are alive, now, and of the importance each of us has because of the gift of life. Yes we are looking at profiles of past historical figures, but what is more important in the now, is that we don't continue the many issues that gave lesser the gift of life to so many millions. While we live, let's draw together and offer cheer, and prayer and sustaining words that will allow those who need every sustainable action to continue to 'live', for many reasons, but most of all because they are loved !

I thank you for explaining what a difublaor is. I guess it is a little like an early support system, like a pace maker. My mother in law has had many operations for her pace maker. Both surgeries are somewhat serious. But you were quite young when you started to be aware of major surgeries as such. Your a brave young lady! I think my daughter was about five or six when my mother in law had her first pace maker. For her it was very upsetting as well. I'm glad to hear your mother is doing better. I remember my daughter told my mother in law after she got her bearings again and could get up and do a bit more, 'you know grandmother, I have been worndering about something'. My mother-in-law said, 'what iis it dear?' My daughter said, 'well you know you have a pace maker now, right? ...well I guess ow, you will live forever' My mother-in-law was quite surprised that her grand daughter had been stopped in her tracks by this surgery issue. It took her a long time to explain to my daughter, that although she did not know how long she would actually live, that though she would die one day, to remember always that she would and could live on in her heart. I hope your father is doing better as well ?

Whether we are older or a young child, the heart is a very valuable issue, and for the many children who go thorugh the difficulties of a loved one, going through surgery, or they themselves, we should remember to them, these issues do at times or may force the child to grow up sooner. But, if we are sensitive enough to their needs, life does not have to be that way.

Holly, you and all of the members who face difficulties of surgery, disabilities, or the issues of long term illnesses or diseases always have our support. Sometimes our loved ones, or families don't have enough time, or can hear our issues or feelings enough to wrap their arms around us to tell us they care. But as you can see, those who do post and respond to your posts do care. I know your families care as well, but sometimes, these issues leave adultsl little time to attend to the everyday needs that they usually do so well. But, don't give up, or think you are not loved. Try also to get a good suppor system going, and do reach out to friends and people you really can trust, and your family trust.

Remember Holly, even if we reach only one heart, and only one heart responds, you are not alone ! There is always God. God Bless !
