I do like your video about Dimitri. It was interesting to see the pictures of him riding. In particular, it would seem that he used the forward seat when jumping. Before WW1 this was very modern and quite controversial, as the forward seat had only recently been developed by an Italian named Federico Caprilli (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caprilli), and then taken up by the Italian cavalry. One of Dimitri's friends was Colonel Paul Rodzianko (nephew of the President of the Duma), who was one of the leading riders of his day, and the first Russian to train with the Italians at their cavalry school.
