I thought I would post some pictures from the Hungarian production of the musical Elisabeth, since that is quite special, and the production is much loved in Hungary where Elisabeth is still adored and respected as the liberator of Hungarians. I've seen the Hungarian version several times and I think it's quite lovely - different from any other versions in some respects, for example it makes more of the scenes taking place in Hungary and equates Elisabeth's struggle for freedom with Hungary's in interesting ways. That production also has in my opinion the best Elisabeth actress anywhere: Nikolett Füredi, who I think is better than anybody in any other actress I have seen in portraying the multiple facets of her character and her development throughout her life, and is completely enchanting on stage. Yes, I do think she's better than the famous names like Pia Douwes and Maya Hakvoort. Nikolett is one of the three actresses currently playing Elisabeth, as Hungarian musicals always have two or three actors for each role and they often get to play equally much. Out of the two others, I wasn't much impressed by Kata Janza though she's famous in Hungary for the role, but I much liked Bernadett Vágó and she is my second favourite after Nikolett.
A few pictures of Nikolett as Elisabeth:

(This one's from the bows, but it's lovely...)

With Szilveszter Szabó P. as Death

With Zoltán Bereczki as Franz-Joseph

And a few other favourite actors of mine from the Hungarian production...

Attila Dolhai as Rudolf

I hope this isn't too much picspam, I tried to be moderate! But I thought I should show some of the Hungarian production of the musical because it's not that well known.
