That's from the Hungarian movie. I am hoping too for a German version but I highly doubt there is one out there since it is only released in Hungy on dvd.

but the piece i saw of it in youtube was in german so probably there is a version in german

I might have the answer.....
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0468252/

From what I gather off the IMDB site is it was a TV movie made in 1989. Perhaps it's not Hungarian after all..... just the TV series in Hungarian...

Found this on youtube. The lead dancers seem to be Franz Josef and Sissi (judging from the stars in her hair)

Yes. It seems to signify their first dance togather. In reality, Franz Josef already fell for Sisi the day before. In the first ball, Sisi was dressed in a pink ball dress with a diamond arrow on her head (Nene was dressed in white).

Well, I have some news to share with you all...

I am keeping in touch with someone I know and we are doing a little trade. I was asked to send out a few of my 'Sisi'-related movies and in return I am to get the next things:
Sisi: Engimatic Empress(documentary, the dvd includes the silent movie from 1921)
Mayerling: The Royal Ballet
Sissi, L'Imperatrice Rebelle(In French this time)

When I get those in, you'll all hear more about it. Also I am to get a better copy of Kronprinz Rudolfs Letzte Liebe, so that will be in a torrent as I get it(promised)

Ohh, Viscotin's "Ludwig" is a real masterpiece. Historical truth, wonderful costumes, great setting, great music. One does not need more at all.

Yes, so agree with you!! Loved Romy Schneider as Empress Elisabeth of Austria, such a more factual portrayal of her!

Indeed. She was "Sisi" to a generation of people and did have her elegance. I love it that Sophie, Nene, Mathilde, Marie, Ludovika, Max and Theodor made it into the movie.
