Wonderful and lavish dresses, although the lady in the last photo really doesn't look like a victorian lady

About the photo in reply #673.
The lady is Antonella Clerici, the anchorwoman of the Festival, (my favorite Italian TV presenter), she wore that blue skirt just to make a funny appearence (LOL, typical of Antonella Clerici).

About Cristiana Capotondi, I have appreciated her interpretation of Empress Elizabeth, she studied a lot to portray her in a reliable manner, she also said in an interview that she have a passion for the history of European Royal families, and that Empress Elizabeth of Austria is her favorite historical character.

A cartoon about the Empress Sissi, although I know that it isn't really historic

My God ! They drew her as a blonde !!! She look more like Barbara Eden ("I dream of Genie") or Giselle Bunden than Sisi...

Hi RomanovsFan,

I'd love to see the new series starring Kristina Kapotondi.  I even tried to read about it in Italy!
My Italian is non-existent, however.

I would like to buy it with English sub-titles.  Does anyone know if this is possible?

Hello historylover.

As far as I know, the DVD it's not yet available here in Italy, but maybe it can be available in other countries as Austria and Germany (where the series has been released first than Italy if I'm not wrong), and maybe with English sub-titles too, but I don't know for sure...

The film is available on DVD in Germany but without any subtitles.

I think the series will be released worldwide eventually. The soundtrack has been released(sounds wonderful), besides that, also 'The Crown Prince' has been released worldwide and that Miniseries has been made by the same producers. I think we shall see it released eventually...

Also I have some news...

The movie "Elisabeth Von Österreich" with Lili Dagover as the Empress is to be released on dvd in Austria and Germany. It is one of the first movies on Elisabeth ever, made in 1931, and it tells the whole story I've heard. So for once it is a fairytale that becomes a tragedy. However I am truly curious as Lili Dagover reprised the role in "Kronprinz Rudolfs Letzte Liebe".

I also am downloading some other movies:
Ludwig - Requiem für einen jungfräulichen König(1972) with Hanna Köhler as the Empress(and it has multiple subtitles!)
Ludwig II: Glanz und Ende eines Königs(1955) with Ruth Leeuwerik as the Empress(this one too has subtitles)
Sisi Und Der Kaiserkuss(1991) with Vanessa Wagner as the Empress(I fear it will be in Russian though)

and for those who wish it I have some other news on the musical:
I will be able to upload the musical "Elisabeth" with English subtitles, and the same goes for "Rudolf".
So if someone is interested, please let me know...

I thought who could play the roles of Ludovikas children in a movie about them (I´m bored today):

Helene: Ida Galli

Mathilde: Alessandra Martines

Marie: Turkish actress Belgin Doruk

Sophie: Caterine Deneuve

Max Emanuel: Turkish actor Kartal Tibet

Elisabeth: Vivien Leigh

If someone has ideas, too, post them!

Yes. Vivien could have played her to perfection. She is shown here as Anna Karenina.
