Hi Princess of Cupertino!

Yes, Brigitte Hamann's biography of Crown Prince Rudolf is well worth reading, but unfortunately I have no idea as to whether it exists in an English translation, although I think her biography of Empress Elisabeth does.

I agree that both the Crown Prince and Max von Thun was/is extremely charismatic, although I think that the latter is better looking (i.e. more handsome) than the former ever was!!

Cheers,
GREENOWL

I do have this movie on VHS. I believe it to be one of the oldest movies on the Mayerling Affair. The 60's movie is a US version and remake of the old Boyer movie. I liked it, but the condition of the movie on VHS is bad/noisy/crackely enough to make it hard to understand, besides the French language........ :)

You remember the pictures I posted earlier on an old movie? - with the dark-haired actress as Maria, well that is that movie. It is a good movie, in its sense of a tragic love better more emotional than the remake.

Thank you aor for the link to the documentaire, curious to see it - though I don't understand german.
Great news that a series is made, 2 parts, probably German? If it is then there is a good chance it will be released on dvd here someday(often these are released here in Belgium).

Where have you heard this, seem the rumors are really true. Such a good news, just hope that the series will be as correct as possible.

I have been searching and did found quite a few pages on it, so I guess it is. But I'll only believe it when I see it turning up on IMDB or something.
