I certainly would not call Arkhangelskoie as monstrosity....it is a very elegant house & compared to many English ,french & American country houses fairly small !!!!!!

I understand TampaBay, In the part of mexico I live.. whenever we want to describe a Huge house, we say it is a "Monster"....

Same in the US or we refer to a large house/ estate on potage stamp size property as a moseleum ..ie..Taj Mahal!!!

Arkhangelskoe is about 5km from my house. I wanted to visit it last weekend but the weather didnt afford me to go there. maybe this time Ill visit Felix's favourite place))

I dont know..because they arent interested in history and they assosiate it with history I think.

It is Askhangelskoie.. During the Stalin Regime, a Snatprium was built in the park...but it is still Arkhangelskoie
